We go to peoples homes at OUR expense to help people learn more about the Bible as you can see from the answers in this forum most people either don't know what they believe or can't prove it scriptually the fact is that they have been victiems of WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. you were warned this would happen. YOU CANNOT JOIN JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES. We only want to help you understand the Bible so you can make an informed decision. YOUR RELIGION IS YOUR BUSINESS. Don't be blinded by false religious dogma, have a conversation with us. Use the Bible as the Guide, many have critized the NWT , go to this site & see what a Harvard PHD said of it. http://www.tetragrammaton.org/truthintrans.htm Look most of us came from other religions, we left because of the accurate Bible knowledge we learned. We only have love for you, & we will respect your right to refuse to talk to us, we're used to it. But do ask questions & insist on scriptual answers. Its not what we think

contrary to the beliefs of many, we are Christians & Jesus is our leader & the one through whom we can recieve everlasting life. We even have a book specificaly giving chronological order of his life & ministry. You should ask us for one
(Matthew 20:28) 28 Just as the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many.”

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

I would like to address joining JWs. You can not just join us. There is no role or member book to sign. You can't pay an entrance fee or any member card. What it takes is much learning and study. As one learns what Jehovah requires of His people, one must make adjustments to their lives to conform to Jehovah's requirements. If this can be done, then they can be baptized and be a JW. This takes time and work.

We are Jehovah's Witnesses, because we are not arrogant in our thinking, but we have learned more than most about the Bible.

you cannot join its not a membership, but if you do not start a bible study & get baptized into it. You will not live forever. Only a few halfway descent JW's will make it that you will be able to count them! Oh! but wait I thought it was a great crowd that no man could number. maybe there is a lot more good people on earth that don't need a man-made organized religion that only aprox. 100 yrs. old. (Jesus didn't claim a religion or go to the kingdom hall.)

"Wouldn't it be polite to make an appointment first, to see if people want freaks like you on their doorstep?"

Wouldn't it be polite to not call people "freaks" ?

Yes JWs go door to door to fulfill the scriptural command at Matthew 28:19, 20 and as Matt. 24:14 shows, this is to be done as a "testimony to all the nations."

So, as has been noted, it wouldn't matter if JWs absolutely knew no one would agree with them, they would still attempt to give "a testimony to all the nations."

Wow, newly baptized huh?
You might give your presentation a 'once over' and maybe run it by the elders to see what they think.
You are coming off a bit nutty.
On the Internet, capitalizing letters is SHOUTING, and is considered by many to be rude.

As far as people coming to my door? I think it takes great faith to motivate a person to go from door to door, I doubt I'll ever see a Lutheran, a Catholic, a Baptist, a Presbyterian, or any of the other myriads of so-called Christians ever show up at my door.
I think the JW's do the preaching work so frequently called to attention in the scriptures.

Honestly, I skimmed your speech. I agree with what I saw, however this isn't exactly a question. I think you should probably post things like this on 360.

I know why we go from house to house and door to door.

I don't mind if they come by and as to the joining part the dort talked about. they are not out to make people join them but you can if you want to is what he is saying.
I'm not afraid of a bible discussion, but for those who say they are maybe they are not as sure of their beliefs as they say they are. maybe they don't have scriptural proof.

I think that people who come to my door uninvited to "help" me learn about the bible, which I have no interest in. The bible is not God's word and I don't believe it's worth the paper it's written on. So don't come to my door as I don't need your help. Thank you.

Would you welcome me if I as a Catholic Christian came to your door with reasons why JW religion is of false dogma and not truly Christian or compatible with the New Testament? I doubt it.
