Next year when Joe Gibbs is out of the top 35 in owner and driver points, how are his drivers possibly going to win a championship? You don't become champion sitting out races!!!

what?
none of his teams will be out of the top 35, so they won't be sitting out any races.
they'll start the first five races next year based on this year's owner points, which are all w/in the top 35. It doesn't matter that they're switching to toyota, they still get to keep this year's owner points.
I'm sure that Stewart, Hamlin, and Ky. Busch will be able to get their cars in the top 35 by the end of the fifth race next year.

I'll have to say I believe it will take them only about 5 races before Gibbs has a car in victory lane next year. As far as season end they will have 2 drivers in the top 10 if not a contender for the championship.

Don't you understand that the chassis' that Gibbs racing is using right now, will have new engines in them, with Toyota influence, and the body will be reskinned. The set ups will hardly change at all from all the info they have on this years car of tomorrow. Just as they did when they went from Pontiac to Chevy, you will notice no difference in their ability to compete. Of the last three or four races how many engine failures have you noticed of toyota's and then again with Gibbs engineers and engine builder's why would you think their engine package will be weak? They will be racing basically the same cars.

Tony Stewart will be able to use past champions provisional a total of 6 times. Plus, Tony, Denny and now Kyle Bush are 3 drivers that don't rely on owners points, they usually qualify on speed.

Besides, is Gibbs losing this years owner points because he's switching to Toyota? Personally, I wish owner points were a thing of the past. Everyone should race their way into the race. And the past champions provision should not be able to be used 2 times in a row. Dale Jarret used 5 of his in a row this year.

Toyota not only bought Gibbs, they bought the latest Chevrolet technology. If you don't think a state of the art Gibbs chevy engine is at TRD right now you don't understand how Toyota works. What they are learning is already helping MWR as anyone can see.

Toyota will be up to speed by Daytona but it wont be Toyota engineering that got them there. Moving forward.........

That is not going to happen. ALL the JGR cars are in the top 35. If Toyota had a decent driver they would running competitively by now.

I don't think that will happen. Stewart probably will still win the Daytona 500 next season in a Mary Kay Camry. They can run good @ the big restrictor plate tracks.... They aren't going to be that far behind the other guys everywhere else, but it will take to mid-season or possibly 3/4 the way thru the season to see drastic changes.

I think that Toyota is going to come out with guns blazing next year. I don't believe that the status of Gibbs' Teams allow them to have a "reorganization" year. Toyota will spend boat loads of money over the winter to get caught up next year.

The big question is how many anger management counselors and additional body men will they need to handle this unstable bunch?
