They come up with some funny sounding garbage

As a speaker of French and German, when I see the result of some online translations involving these languages, it's hard not to laugh

My "question" is more of a statement. Take anything an online translator gives you with a ton of salt.

I agree...try this...Write a sentence in English, eg
"I eat too much, I am getting fatter every day."
Translate it into, say, Portuguese...take down the translation. put that translation back in and translate back into English...what do you get??? Certainly not what you put in!
On-line translators are useless.

Any chance i could email you with something i some things i need translated into german? i have a german pen-pal and i thnk the stuff i use online translation for is a load of rubbish !

Online translators are really only good for single words or short phrases. Longer passages tend to get mistranslated.
