I've been hearing it was the end since the 70s, though most churches I've attended since don't focus on it the way churches did back then. Only God knows when it really is, so it's best to live as though it won't be in another 30 years (in terms of things secular, i.e. continue with school, work, etc.) and live as though he may come in the next 5 minutes in terms of being ready to meet him. - Christian

Many different denominations believe we are living in "the last days". But please remember that the Bible says 'a thousand years is like a day to Jehovah our God' (paraphrasing- not sure where it is, I'll look it up later though).
Life has been getting increasingly worse since 1914. Jehovah's Witnesses hold that that was the year Jesus came to kingdom power and one of the first things (if not the very first) was that he ousted Satan and the demons from heaven. They are permanently trapped on the earth and in Revelation it say Satan is angry because he knows he has just a short period of time left.
There have been increasing natural disasters, food shortages, plagues... and 2 Timothy 3:1-5 spells out the attitudes of people today perfectly. The "evil" of today is out of proportion and it has to end soon.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

The real magic is at the end of the God shew.
Eg: Merlin TV Movie: 1998 starring Sam Neil.
Where & when they stop acknowledging law(evil).
Then the evil whore (mame) & evil deeds vanish.
Pure religion: arrive undefiled, remain unspotted.
Hmmm, isn't the dead sea now rapidly vanishing.
Perhaps a clue, we are nearning the end written:
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Christian - people have been predicting the end for years and been wrong. I believe there will be an end someday, but no human has the ability to predict it.

Don't you think it's rather curious that humans would think they knew the date when even Jesus doesn't?
