Depends on the definition. A kitten reaches puberty around 5-6 months of age, and is able to reproduce. Does this constitute "becoming a cat"? Cats usually reach their full size at 10-12 month. Does this constitute "becoming a cat"?

I suppose it depends on your perspective:)
