I know a fair few people from different faiths, they are all really cool people, but sometimes they can't go through a conversation without ending up talking about JC or Big Moh, buddah etc.

They also seem to live for religion i.e only two out of 6 have hobbies, the others live for religion and seem to do nothing else! (That can't be good, can it?)

What is your view? do you worship and play a sport or have a hobby too?

I'm a born again Christian. I'm also an Ordained Bishop with my denomination. I spend a part of my day in prayer, bible study and at times visitations at hospitals, etc. I spend quality time with my wife and kids, such as going out on dates or watching movies. Now, I personally enjoy paintball, volleyball, swimming, fishing, building plastic model kits, reading (history, biographies, religious) and playing football with my youth group. I enjoy plays and especially watching football. Oh yeah, I also play short stop on our church softball team once a week. Now all of this I approach with a heart of gratitude to Jesus Christ and I make sure that my attitudes and actions and the amount of time I spend on my "hobbies" is centered around my relationship with Christ. For without Him, I could do nothing.

what the heck makes u think we cant do all of that??

i believe in & luv God.

i read my Bible almost every fri/sat nite.

i also play lotsa games on the 'puter that have nothin 2 do w/ Him.

i also watch movies of all kinds that dont have anything 2 do w/ Him. (horror movies esp. dont have anything 2 do w/ Him)i watch lotsa tv that dont have anything 2 do w/ Him.

just becuz some1 is religious dont mean that everything they do is about religion.just becuz something doesnt have anything 2do w/ God doesnt mean its bad & religious ppl believe they hafta stay away from it.

what about the mind? do u think we keep a clean mind all the time? no. its as dirty as any1 elses. (exept 4 the real perverted)

i DO find it revolting that some ppl suggest incest or sex w/ animals tho. like those sayings "dog effin", "eff a cow", "mother effer". thats why i gave up on family guy-its far 2 retarded 4 my liking. hardly an episode goes by that they dont mention sex w/ animals. idk about any1 elses opinion, but i think thats 1 heck of a repulsive thing that SHOULDNT even be MENTIONED. ppl should know better than 2 talk like that.

theres nothing wrong w/ your friends. yes it IS good, it just means theyre really dedicated 2 God (or whoever) how is it bad 2 be dedicated that much to something that good??

Im one of those Christians whose 'life' is dictated largely by my faith. I pretty much just work and go to church. I will take the kids to Chuckie Cheese or my teenager shopping but I dont much of any secular stuff. I went (as an old alum) to my highschool's first night game last week and it was kind of weird but cool. Its hard to 'jump and scream' for anything as superficial as a football game once you start to live life through spiritual eyes. If I lose my voice at a sports event...how much MORE should I hoot and holler for Christ? Infinitely more....so I guess I try not to let anything in my life, exceed my worship. I do more things of God..than I do anything else.

To some people, religion is everything, because the thought of damnation after life is scary! Wouldn't you dedicate your life to something if someone told you you would burn in hell for ETERNITY if you didn't? But That's for christians. As for me, I just find my spirituality as a hobbie I guess you could say, because I enjoy learning and talking about it. But I do not believe in hell. I believe that whatever we open our minds to in this lifetime, will improve our soul. So, I am doing something I like as well as preparing for the afterlife. I do however do other things, like read and watch Tv. I also have a job and a boyfriend that I live with, so my plate is pretty full.

I don't think that it is a bad thing to dedicate yourself to a religion, as long as you have an open mind. I mean, look at priests, monks, nuns, or preachers. They all dedicate their lives to religion and lead pretty fulfilling lives. It is really up to the person and depends on your personality. As for me, I would shoot myself if I was locked up in a convent, but it works for some people. I'll give you this though, once they commit to themselves to their religion in this way, they no longer are allowed to think for themselves or have an open mind, and how healthy can that be? But hey, decide for youself what is the right answer for you.

I live for my Savior, but I do lots of other things. I love to read, and spend time with my nieces and nephews, watch football, scrapbook, hang out with my friends, etc.

We need to enjoy our life here on earth, while still worshiping God. We only get one shot at this life and all the things it has to offer.

Religious people do other things, but things that are accepted within religion. If your consider stuff that you do fun, but your religious friends wont do certain things of those. That is because, maybe in what they believe it can be a sin to do it. Religions out there say not to have sex before marriage, or drink. To you they are fun to do, but due to your friends respect, they wont do it.

Being non secular does not propose which you're able to have faith in a definite God or Savior. non secular human beings are merely merely full of love and compassion for others. So via merely belonging to a faith or having faith does not make somebody non secular, it is going a ways previous that.

The Bible tells us that even Jesus needed "down time". I do have other aspects of my life, though, as with other interests in people's lives, my religious beliefs bleed over in to most other parts of my life.
