That was Satan's plan.
You give up free will through addiction. Those who fall pray to their vices no longer have free will.

Free will is not given by man and there fore cannot be given up by man. One cannot renounce their free will any more than they could decide to be an elephant. It is just not possible.
Jesus said there is but one way to approach the Father, and that was through him. For by one man sin entered the world, and buy one man sin was kicked out of the world. Through the action of one man, Adam, sin destroyed out communion with a loving Creator. Through this one act of disobedience we are forever removed from his presence.
But the good news is, that through one act of obedience, the Crucifixion, we can be redeemed and placed back into communion with our creator.
Believe, receive and live.

Free will is an illusion...especially in terms of Christianity. To state that one has free will would be to inply that God can be wrong...something that most Christians would be unwilling to admit. After all, hasn't God decreed through revelation that certain events would occur in a certain way? If true, this would imply that the future can only occur in one way. If the future can only occur in one way then there really isn't free will. If the future can occur in different ways (via free will) then it is entirely possible that we could make God wrong...again something Christians will not conceed to.

Calvinists believe we never had free will. They believe that we are either predestined to hell or heaven. We simply have no free will, therefore how we live our life or the sins we commit do not matter. It is lawless soteriology.

Free Will is actually In the Brain!Scientists say one part of the brain is responsible for initiating action, while a totally separate area is in charge of not taking that action.!

You can never go against your instincts, and to do so would be a sin. Unless it was to protect another.
