I request my credit report twice a year. but I've never actually received my actual score. I'm in the process of buying a house but before I do that I need to know where I rank. What company (website) gives credit scores? the cost is not a problem.

There is a way to get your free report for free , but I think you have to pay to get the score.

myfico.com can give you the actual no. But, I'd suggest just talking with a mortgage broker, they'll run your credit and let you know what it is and what options you have. The reason I say this is because you can buy your score now and then in a month when you decide to buy a house the broker or lender will run it again, charging you at the closing for the cost, showing 2 inquiries on your score and making you have to pay twice as well.

Buy them direct from the credit bureau. Other site may be approximations, because the bureau's formula are proprietary.

Or, just apply. The mortgage company must give you this information, if they run a credit check. How will knowing your score help you? The score is only one factor that a lender considers.
