How do i know which camera is right for me. I mean if it has to much or not enough. I want a camera that is just right. Also what is the best number of mega-pixels to start with a 5,6, or 7. Which cameras are the best in the market.

I have the Canon A570 IS. I like it, it's a nice size, takes AA batteries. Has face recognition and image stabilization. It has several preset settings. One for kids and pets, landscape, night scene and more. It has a big lcd screen. 7.1 mp

I don't like the lag time between shots, not so bad if you are not using the flash. Battery life is not that great, but rechargables are the way to go.

4 to 6 megapixels is sufficient for almost all photo bugs. What's useful is a camera that has only a 1 second delay between shots, an image stabilizer to help you steady camera. It's not suppose to take the place of a tripod. Manual controls can be useful where you set the shutter speed or aperture. I prefer lots of zoom, so you might want to look into a camera that has 10X optical zoom or 12X.
Website dpreview.com has reviews of many different cameras and prices.
Brands to consider are Sony, Canon, Fuji and Nikon.
PS I own a 6 megapixel Sony with 12X optical zoom, which gives me an excellent 8X10 print.

I have a 5.0 megapixel and it works perfectly fine. It's what I started out with and what I still have. I have this camera, and it is the best camera I have ever had!

I didn't get it from that website, so it's not like I trust that website. I actually got it at Target.

It's a Photosmart E327 5.0 megapixels.

I have a Kodak. It sucks when recording videos because the screen gets dimmer than if you were taking a picture without flash. When you zoom in real close, your pictures get blurry. I'd prefer you to get a Canon or Sony digital camera. They work better than a Kodak. Megapixels you should get is either 6, 6.5, or 7.

I'd recommend anything with 6 (preferably 7) megapixels. I have love Nikon S Series digital cams.

Good luck on your search!
