I am a VN vet infantry and am paying high property tax, county hospital, school tax, food stamps for illegals. I do not think I will be able to retire if this pressure continues with illegals coming to the US and the government is twidding their thumbs. Is there any place in Mexico I can retire cheap? thanks.

I feel your pain. 30% of my income go to fedreal income tax alone....doesn't count sales, local, real estate taxes, etc.

I'm working for every body BUT me.

Look for Austicias on here. He is an american ex-pat who has retired somewhere in central mexico...lives on a "modest" retirement (his words, not mine).

Basically the Mexico he speaks of sounds great. He says we have been fed a line of BS about certain things....he says he is surrounded by educated and employed people, no corruption, etc. He says we have been fed a line of BS about the dire straits in Mexico.

the govt is not twiddling their thumbs, they are argueing and debateing and disagreeing, much like the yahoo awnsers community is on this. you may not be able to retire at all if the social security falls through with the ageing baby boomers(more people takeing from social security then people paying to social security). that doesnt have much to do with illegals. there is a new baby boom comeing from the illegals though which means when the children of those illegals are old enough to work and pay taxes then you will actualy benefit from their presence. so i advise waiting about 5 years to see where this situation is headed and whether or not to retire here or in mexico or wherever you want there are some lovely islands that are nice.

Perhaps for the equal intent that the highest two% of the general public don't pay the taxes that they must be paying. These deficient persons who're making an attempt to pay for meals and housing through doing the paintings that the majority Americans don't find irresistible to do don[t have the high-priced attorneys that that two% who get out of paying taxes. If they did possibly they would get even greater wellbeing care.

Apparently you don't follow what's happening in the USA financial markets. The USA is already bankrupt. We are trillions of dollars in debt to countries like CHINA and the debt is growing daily. Add to that the illegal immigrants sucking off our economy and what's left -- you can never retire. Many who thought they could have been working at Target and Wal Mart and other retail stores.

The problem with allowing illegal immigrants to stay and work in the country is that they are given preferential treatment even though they are lawbreakers. That makes us morally, ethically, and financially bankrupt!

We are already going bankrupt! In fact, the City of Los Angeles has to pay about $35 MILLION PER MONTH for take care of the illegals. That doesn't include public school since they don't check legal status.

THIS IS WRONG! We can't afford to pay for their services. Money that should be going to AMERICANS is going to 20 to 30 million citizens from other countries.

If they pass shamnesty, millions will access SS retirement and rapidly deplete it when the baby boomers have yet to draw from the fund. Then, no working-class American would be able to retire.
The costs to taxpayers is exorbitant. I'd much rather see my tax dollars being spent on securing our borders, deporting illegals and providing services only to Americans in need.
We have far too many children in poverty now. It's past-time to focus on citizens in need.

I'm sure there are plenty of places available to you in Mexico. Especially since they are all up here.

Honey I also am paying high property tax, county hospital, school tax, food stamps for illegals, and I'M A ILLEGAL BRAZILIAN, so don't think that all illegals use our money to live because I know many like me, that aren't absorbing anyone money.
Just to let you know I had a son and I paid over $10 thousand for hospital bills, I didn't do like a girl that I know (AN AMERICAN), that the government or better said we paid for her kids birth.
And one of the reasen the America is in big economy problems is because there is tons of ILLEGALS going back home, so they are returning their houses, cars and any thing else they have financed.

I think the US government is to blame, not illegal immigrants. Our government is spilling trillions of dollars into this war and neglecting schools, veterans, elderly, poor children, pretty much everyone except rich white people. If we put all that money toward people who are actually IN the US, everyone could be fed and healthy, including those immigrants.

ONE ILLEGAL ALIEN IS TOO MUCH, IF--WE ALLOW THAT PERSON TO TRY TO CHANGE OUR LANGUAGE, OR TO LIVE ON OUR WELFARE, OR TO ATTEND OUR SCHOOLS FREE, OR TO USE OUR MEDICAL FREE. IT COSTS THE AMERICAN TAXPAYER FOR THIS PERSON, so now multiply that by the millions of illegal aliens and it should wake you up before we are bankrupt!! USMC 60-68
