hi!! i was just wondering how long till all the ice melts?? and also what r people doing to stop it?? r we all doomed?? im terrified. :((

No. But if we do nothing, we're all in big trouble.
It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money, and drive the world into an economic depression. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them. We're not doomed, but it won't be any fun.
Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

It depends on what "plane" your traveling on. If your on a spiritual "plane" it doesn't matter what happens you just continue on through other forms, whether it be an angel, a spirit, or whatever. If you are on a physical "plane" which a lot of us physical creatures think about, it doesn't matter because your physical body is made to decay and die. As far as when the ice melts; is going to depend on certain factors such as weather conditions, isothermos, etc. The scientist are astonished that things are happening so quickly. However with this in mind; things can change just as rapidly. The pendulum is in motion therefore, it is hard to stop now (physics). What should have been done at least 50 years ago, never was because of greed for money mainly. Try and get the movie "Who killed the Electric Car".. it's just a moment and there have been a lot of moments in our culture, let alone in civilization. This was predicted in "Revelations" so read and watch.

NO, we are NOT all doomed!
Even if all the ice DOES melt, we are not doomed. The climate was MUCH warmer in the time of the dinosaurs, with no ice at either pole. And the dinosaurs did just fine until an ice age came along and froze the world up. We are just coming out of an ice age now. The global warming thing may make it get warm a little sooner that it was going to anyway, but it will NOT get warmer than it was in the time of the dinosaurs and it will be GOOD for life, not bad.

the weather has its own cycles ,it changes at it`s own rate.We have shown by ice core drilling that the weather melts the ice and also freezes it.No one knows what will cause the next change. There are people saying all kinds of reasons for heating and cooling but records haven`t been kept long enough and nobody was around to see what caused what.
I`d worry more about Yellowstone blowing up .

Don't be terrified. I don't believe our current warming period is due to CO2, but even if it is, man is already developing new technologies to reduce or even eliminate our emissions. It will take some time, but we will prevail.
Mankind is much better off in a warm climate than a cold climate. It's hard to grow food during an ice age and you can bet man will see another ice age at some point in time. We should feel fortunate to live during a warm climate.

it's true. we're all dying. funny thing tho, people have been successfully dying since the beginning of people. it's a long time till the ice melts. there are lots of ways to slow it down but you'd need the help and involvement of the entire planet. don't be scrrrrd. educate yourself and do your part. al gore has some ideas, greenpeace, sierra club are only a few resources.

That's a cute joke. I love "global warming" humor, since the whole thing is a silly joke. I hope you're joking. No one could be that ignorant, could they?
Serious scientists don't adhere to the "global warming" myth, so if you don't want to learn science, it's ok, just don't propagate the lies by worrying for no reason.
Global warming is a religion. You must believe in the messiah, Al Gore, without proof. His "word" is enough. You must feel guilty about everything you do and must pay for forgiveness by giving way to draconian taxes and repent. If you're rich you can buy absolution with "carbon credits."
So join this nice new religion, won't you? It will make you feel better about yourself.
