Nothing that would be on one of those wedding cd's. No Elton John! I love EJ, but too played out for weddings.
Classic rock is good, alternative music is better!

Not sure what decade you're looking for, but I'd say "Somebody" by Depeche Mode would be a great alternative song. Slow and sweet for a first dance at a wedding, yet not traditional...

I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details

Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support

And so on...and so on.

What kind of music do you like?

"Making Memories of Us" Keith Urban
"Can I Have This Dance" Anne Murray
"Here and Now" Luther Vandross
"Ribbon in the Sky" Stevie Wonder
"Memories Are Made of This" Dean Martin
"It Had To Be You" Harry Connick Jr
"Always and Forever" Heatwave
"Let's Stay Together" Al Green
"Colour My World" Chicago
"Love Will Keep Us Alive" Eagles
"At Last" Etta James
"As Time Goes By" Jimmy Durante

Common ... known songs ... but somewhat original?!

How about COLOR MY WORLD by Chicago. Classic rock song from 1971, but the lyrics are perfect for a wedding. In fact, that's the song we used for our wedding in 1974. Wow, that was a long time ago!!!
If you like country, HOLD ON TO ME by John Michael Montgomery. That's what our daughter used for her wedding this past May.
Whatever you chose, hope you have a beautiful, happy day!!!

Zoot Suit Riot - that'd be different.

My husband and I had the song "When I See You Smile" by Bad English for our wedding song.

If you wanna be really wierd - try the Ghost Busters Theme song. lol. Just kidding.

Just find a song that has sentimental or emotional value to the two of you. Remember, this will signify the first act together as husband and wife - make it a song you'll remember forever... one that you both love.

A good country type song would be "Little Moments" by Brad Pasley. Another good song would be the song "Glory of Love" by Peter Cetera.
