Now, this is coming from a fat person.

Gastric band is what I call the "last resort". Does it work, maybe. I also call it the "lazy person way of getting out of some serious exercise".

One of my old co-workers did it and lost the weight. it was her lazy way out because she wasn't exercising and eating really bad.

Now I wouldn't do it, because I am determine to lose my weight by exercising and eating right. I got the eating right down; I quit eating fast foods and eating more fruits and veggies. And I started doing exercises, especially after work (I walk the Brooklyn Bridge after work). I wouldn't do the gastric band thing unless it would MY LAST RESORT.

I don't know what a gastric band is so I could be wrong but I think it should only be for
someone who weighs 500 pounds or more.
If someone weighs less than that and can get out of bed
then they can exercise and eat healthy to lose weight.

I have a friend who did this she has a mega scar from her breast bone downwards which isn;t very nice and also a hugh apron where she lost all her weight, she looks great dressed and is a great deal happier than when she was fat. The downside is She cannot enjoy her meals any more and is still very body concious. Diet and excersize if you dont put it in it won't make you spread
