You should have other skills other than language. You can't beat Japanese by speaking ability of Japanese. Also there are tons of people who have BA and who speaks English. In Japan, having no job after college graduation is regarded that the applier has no ability and it's hard even for Japanese. You can imagine it's even harder for non-Japanese. Also it's not usual to hire the non-nationals inside Japan. Even the English teachers are recruited in their countries and they come to Japan after they get the job and visa. The full-time job for non-nationals are mostly one of these. 1. head-hunted as a president or manager: of course requires skills and actual achievements 2. switch from part-timer to full-timer as English teacher (but not so much opportunities) 3. have a Japanese spouse or graduated Japanese universities wihch gives you the working visa automatically and hired in the same way as Japanese job seekers 4. transferred to the branch office in Japan as the full-time employee of a foreign company You are young and have no career (no offence!) so you can take either 2, 3 or 4. You can re-join a Jpaanese college and get a degree, or start working as an English teacher, or get hired by a company in your country that have branch offices in Japan. My suggestion is 4. In this case, your Japanese ability might do. Either way, you need the career first of all. Good luck.

If you have a doctorate you can apply at UMUC.edu there are also some other universities that might allow you to if you have a masters. If you do have your masters you can apply at a local college or university. As far as freelance goes.... well, you seem to knnow about advertising, do that!
