Personality-wise and intellectually I coincidentally seem to get along best with women that are a few years older than me. While many of them state "where were you X number of years ago" none are willing to give a younger guy a chance even if they claim to really like conversing with him. Why is this?

The problem is that the maturity arguments applied to adults are completely bunk. Women are mature only in certain aspects while men mature in others, by the mid-20s most men are either up or past the age equivilent woman. A vocal few retain the playboy style that appears to drag the whole group down.

I don't know - I just recently dated a guy who is 2 1/2 years younger than me. I thought he was great and I hope to maybe "one day" date him again. He unfortunately went back to his ex gf so who knows! But the way they ended the 1st time around, decent chance it might not work. If it does though, I wish him happiness.

Back on topic though....as far as the other poster on younger guys truly show in the bedroom. I don't agree with that - this guy I mean ok he is no expert (don't want one either though - that would scare me like they are a male slut!) but he knew his way around a female body and was definitely not selfish! A guy being good/bad - selfish/unselfish doesn't have to do with age (unless your talking teenagers maybe). It is all dependent on that individual guy.

i have a younger boyfriend =) only a year younger, but still.
i think that if the agedifference is larger, women fear that you're in different stages of your life and thereby wanting different things in a relationship.
i don't know how old you are, but i'll try to explain. if you're 20 for example and you fall for a woman that's approaching 30, you're maybe still a bit too much of a party-person, wanting to enjoy freedom, friends and stuff like that. but a woman of about 30 is looking for marriage, kids, ...
see the difference? next time you meet an older woman, talk about the issue. if it turns out you two do want different things, you can still give it a shot, but parting ways and finding someone else is more likely to be better.
if you do appear to want the same things: don't let the difference in age fool you and go for it!!
my boyfriends parents are divorced and have been for about 8 years or so now. his mother is in her 40s (i don't know her exact age, but i'm guessing 44-45), while her new boyfriend is about 30 i think. well, it's not really a boyfriend because they built a house together and stuff, but they're not married so i don't know what else to call it. it's a long term relationship already =P but anyway, this just to state that, if you want the same things in life, age can indeed "just be a number".
hope this helps and good luck!

Not trying to be mean, but the younger the guy the less mature he is. Guys take longer to mature or to "grow up" and act responsibly. Women like older guys, because they have more experience, more mature, thus making a better boyfriend.

I dont think of i'd date a guy as youthful as 19, im in my 30s yet I even have snogged adult adult males around that age. i think of previous due 20s would be my youngest i'd date. i'd like early 30s if i grow to be getting severe some guy yet while he grow to be mature i'd probable bypass youthful.

a lot of women have a "maturity" complex that makes younger men more unattractive as mates. although most younger men might be better in some areas (for example, in bed or doing exciting things like dancing) they tend to be lacking in other areas that demonstrate stability (for example, have a house, a solid job, prospects for the future, etc)

I prefer to date older men.
Simply because they are generally more mature and honest.
The younger the guy, the more likely he is to cheat, be dishonest, just up for sex and nothing else, I could go on!?!?
Some women do prefer younger men, one of my friends only dates younger guys, she thinks they are more charming.
You will find someone, we just have our own personal preferences I suppose.

well 1. becuase girls mature faster than guys so if shes 5 years older really shes like 10-15 in maturity years...that may not be the only reason-2. most older women who are in their "prime" with job etc dont want to wait on their man to catch up! 3. besides if they dont want you then you dont want them either!

Conditioning. Women have been groomed to believe they need an older man in their lives. If you truly are attracted to older women, then be prepared for an uphill battle. You're going to have to make them see the real you and not just your age.

Honestly my biggest problem with younger men is their performance in bed. This is where their age really stands out. Work on your skills and you might blow that older woman away!
