Let me put a slightly different spin on this - when we say 'true', it doesn't necessarily mean true or false. It is true in direction [like true north]. We believe that within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are found all the teachings and ordinances necessary to return to our Heavenly Father and dwell with him. For example, when Jesus went to John to be baptized, John was surprised that the Christ would need to be baptized, and the Savior taught the principle that the ordinance of baptism was necessary for all, even the Son, to fulfill the measure of His Purpose here on Earth.
Mormons are taught to find truth wherever it may be -- and there is truth to be found in most religions and churches around the globe, the the way to return to our Heavenly Home has a 'strait gate and narrow is the way'.
Thanks for the question.

Doctrine by it's very nature us usually wrong because it is a product of the mind of human beings who by their very nature are flawed.
The LDS Doctrine of Christ is particularly troubling for several reasons including the fact that nothing in the book of Mormon is supported by any kind of archaeological evidence unlike it's closest "resource text" the Bible which not only has volumes of physical "proofs" if you will, but almost daily we learn of some new evidence making that collection of works trustworthy.
The fact that the Jesus of the Church of Latter Day Saints is so radically different from the Jesus revealed in the Bible is the more troubling. I would argue that the true Jesus is not the spirit brother of Satan as the Mormon Church teaches, and God would not break his own moral code to come to earth and sexually violate a virgin to create a physical son for his spirit child.
Ice that with the idea/teaching that the god of the Mormon Church is the god of THIS world, and that any one, strike that any man, may, by following the teachings of the church, become a god himself with a world of his own over which he may reign. Sounds like polytheism even if you only worship Elohim, if he's one of many gods, you've got a poly theme going.
"As man is, God once was; as God is, man may be."?????
Nice work if you can get it!
Please no "oh Yeah!" rebukes,

Joseph Smith said that God and Jesus said it is. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. Therefore, what he says is true.
Joseph Smith was also a good entertainer, and toyed with emotions for dramatic effect during both religious and social functions in his later life. In his later years in Nauvoo, he even developed a method for understanding when God confirms to you by the Spirit that the Church is true. Whereas in the early days of the church it was based solely on scripture study and charismatic miracles, it later became a function of bosom-burning in the hearts of BoM readers after a prayer or two.

Ever Mormon who would agree with your question/statement would say the fact that the Holy Spirit has personally testified in a member's heart and mind of the truthfulness would be a major factor. That still, small voice can likewise testify of all truth if we allow it. It takes sincerity, a contrite heart and open mind, and a willingness to receive of the spirit are precursors in the process.

We believe that all religions have some truth but that our religion has absolute truth and is the true church organized by Christ and God lead by prophets and apostles of God in the same manner as the Biblical churches of God.
Can I prove to you its the true doctrine, no. Noone can prove religion to another person.

I would prefer to call it the fullness of the Gospel. I have everything other churches started with, and then is added the further light and knowledge. I have been given answers to questions that can't otherwise be answered. The 'mysteries' of God turn out to be not so mysterious after all.

well read it and ask Him. i know He is willing to tell you. Christ is at the head of the church. He continues to speak through a prophet and reveal what He wants for us. all the keys of the gospel have been fully restored today. it is the same church that Christ founded when He was on the earth, but was lost through the killing of the apostles. it has been fully restored once again.

I'm not sure I understand the question. I mean, what makes anything true? God makes truth. Do you mean, what proof is there that the doctrine is true?
