No not for true Christians , Jesus says in Matthew 26:52 that "those who take the sword will perish by the sword". Also in Luke 6:27,28 Jesus commands us to "love your enemies, to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you" Hope that helps

Yes. The great theologians and Fathers of the Church (including St. Augustine himself and St. Thomas Aquinas) have long talked about the "Just War Theory"
The most authoritative and up-to-date expression of just war doctrine is found in paragraph 2309 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It says:
The strict conditions for legitimate defense by military force require rigorous consideration. The gravity of such a decision makes it subject to rigorous conditions of moral legitimacy. At one and the same time:
1) the damage inflicted by the aggressor on the nation or community of nations must be lasting, grave, and certain;
2) all other means of putting an end to it must have been shown to be impractical or ineffective;
3) there must be serious prospects of success;
4) the use of arms must not produce evils and disorders graver than the evil to be eliminated. The power of modern means of destruction weighs very heavily in evaluating this condition.
These are the traditional elements enumerated in what is called the "just war" doctrine. The evaluation of these conditions for moral legitimacy belongs to the prudential judgment of those who have responsibility for the common good.
As for "Scripture" - one need not go any further than:
They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And (Jesus) said to them, "It is enough."
St. Luke's Gospel 22:38

Read the Old Testament. It is full of many military experiences where they had a mission to fulfill and answered the call that God gave them. Wars are a necassary part of living in a sinful world and there will always be good vs. bad going on. In order for that to happen there should be Christians that are willing to make a stand and be willing to go to war.

Not only is it Ok for Christians to serve in the Military, but many have and are right as we speak. God Bless Them!*
For those whom serve and do not know The Lord, we can only pray that they will come to know His Saving Grace.
The best scriptures in the bible that I can think of are summed up in this;
Romans Ch 13;
1. Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
2. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
3. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you.
I hope this has helped*

Absolutely....
I don't have Scripture to support this at the moment but......there's nothing wrong with a believer serving his country.
I think of David right off the bat.........being obedient to God when called upon to wipe out a city.

They already do, and they call it "to be a warrior of God". Sick yes, but it is real. It is very ok according to the christians to kill in war, as long as it is for their God. Also christianity is the only religion that can start an unprovoked war and still justify it, whereas muslims doesn't start wars - they only defend themselves if nescessary.
Christianity is the largest overall problem the world has today.
