Play good poker. Know things like the number of outs that you have, pot odds, implied odds etc. Constantly change gears with your style of play.
Make good hands pay well and fold the rubbish.
Do not try to make outrageous draws as you will lose your chips.

you need to play premium hands until you build a nice stack and once you have at least 3 times what you started with get aggressive, dont get involved with bad cards, cos if u catch u will find it hard to fold and end up getting beat with a better 1. i have won a little playing poker so i know a bit! buy the wpt poker mag you will gets some good tips in there

I play lots of poker. I never entered a tournament. But i think i know what it takes. It takes luck and lots and lots of patients.Don't play every hand you get dealt. It may look like a good hand but always ask your self "what if". Change your style of playing every couple of hands you want to keep your opponents all ways guessing don't let them get comfortable to your way of playing. I also play on fultiltpoket.net it makes good practice.

3) Have a drink by your side at all times
4) Wear a loud-colored shirt
5) Always lie
6) Question every hand, like "How could you call with that @$%@??
