God is the Author of all the Good we know.
And because Jesus died to save us from our sins, IF we believe in Him, then one would assume that's the finish and with a smile YES IT IS FINISHED,
though first God has to draw an individual unto Himself so as He/she may be saved.
(For unto everyman is given a measure of Faith, by God, so that He/she may be able to believe*)
If they choose the path of righteousness, then there is a process of refining our Character to become Like His, day by day, from Glory to Glory, until whatever stage in life He decides to take us Home, then, He has promised, that The Good work He has started in us, He will Finish it on that great and Glorious Day!
And therefore, that makes Him the Author and Finisher of our Faith.
Glory to Our Savior Jesus for the suffering He took upon Himself, to save our pitiful souls from Death.

Amen
as the Author of our Faith .. the Lord Jesus is the Originator, Inaugurator, Leader, Pioneer, Forerunner. All the Old testament believers were only witnesses of faith, whereas Jesus is the Author of Faith. He is the source and cause of faith. In our natural man we have no believing ability. We do not have faith by ourselves. The faith which we have received is the " precious faith" that we receive from the Lord ( 2 Peter 1:1) When we look away unto Jesus, He as the Life giving One (1 Cor 15:45) transfuses us with Himself, with His believing element. Then spontaneously, a kind of believing arises in our being adn we have the faith to believe in Him. He imparts this faith to us. We live by our faith,i.e we live by His faith as seen in ( Gal 2:20)
Also as this Author, the Lord Jesus has cut the way of faith and , as the Forerunner he took the lead to pioneer it. He can carry us in His footsteps through the pathway of faith. This is a real practical way for us to go on in the Lord. He is taking us through so many situations to even perfect our faith.
As the Perfector or Finisher He completes. He WILL finish what He originated. He WILL complete what He inaugurated. If as believers we look away TO Him continually, He will finish and complete the faith that we need for the running of the heavenly race.
Philippians 1:6
Being Confident of THIS VERY THING, that HE who has BEGUN in you a good work will COMPLETE it until the day of Christ Jesus
Hallelujahhhhhhhhhh!!!
Praise the Lord brother Don. We can be confident that the Lord is determined to not leave us " half baked" or ' incomplete" He will be faithful to His words to us.. If it takes many years .. He will work Himself into us. Christ will be wrought into each and every one of us as we cooperate with Him.. As we keep our eyes fixed on Him.
May we never look back. When we take our eyes off of Christ we are easily stumbled.
He is not only our Author and Finisher.. He is also our GOAL.
To lay hold of Christ!!
Praise the Lord
Ty for posting such a wonderful verse brother

Wow I wish I had the paper I just wrote, it was about the completion of the Old Covenant through the person of Christ. It explained how the traditions of the Jewish Passover celebration were fulfilled in Christ. Though it is not totally completed until the 2ND coming. I am really amazed when I study stuff like that that the Jewish religion doesn't see these things, but they will soon, there will be a mass conversion when the end is near, God will open there eyes. He must have a purpose for not enabling them to see it.

Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith because he resides in us via the Holy Spirit and He finishes the job. We are made complete in Christ when He is done.
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Phil. 1:6

He started it, and is finishing it.
People who know the scriptures know that the Holy Spirit inspired the writing of the Bible.
Jesus is the Word of God, He started the world and all the universe; being the Most High God.
People who struggle against the concept behind the word 'trinity' will have a lot of trouble reconciling this fact. God is one, but more complex than saying, "He is one."

Because the spiritual side of faith is something we cannot obtain on our own.
Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according (((as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.))))
Faith is seen in to aspects.
1.Spiritual
2.Physical
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the ((substance)) of things hoped for, the ((evidence)) of things not seen.
Notice the words , substance and evidence brother Don. These are the works of obedience in our life ((after)) we receive the spiritual aspect of faith that only comes as stated in Romans 12:3....as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
We first receive the Spiritual aspect of faith from God, Hebrew 11:1.....things hoped for.....of things not seen. Or we could never trust in the unseen, then the physical....substance and evidence. These are our works of obedience, not that we are saved by them, they are only the results of Gods grace, i.e. the fact Faith can only come from Him who begins it, and finishes it. Thus, the author and finisher.
Hope this made sense, a little tired today. Blessings

Jesus is the reason we can be saved, and He was always there. HE is also God. without JEsus we cant be saved. So the plan of salvation begins with Jesus and ends with Jesus. HE suffered and died so we dont have to suffer and die a spiritual death, only a natural death. Unless Jesus comes before we die, then we dont even go thru the physical natural death Jesus is the reason for every season, With Him, we have it all, without Him, we have nothing.
Oh yes Great question, thanks again..... as usual, you make ppl think. To God be the glory..

The knowledge that people use to enhance their Faith in any, way, shape, or form is the power that belongs to Jesus Christ and only to Jesus Christ whom is the Image of God. With this it is only a given that all things in this manner shall come and go to Jesus Christ because this power belongs to Him.
As Jesus Christ said so Himself. Give to whom what belongs to them.
This is one that belongs to Jesus Christ. All of it is done by IMAGES. The Image of God. Is another great example to say that Jesus Christ is God. The Image of God is in the highest perfection with God Himself. Is the reason why He is the Powerful One.

Jesus is the creator of all things. Nothing that was created was created apart from Him. In Him all things are held together. By Him SIN was defeated, His death being a substitutionary death for all who have believed on Him. By His resurrection He gives new Life to those who accept it. Jesus will stand up for His own at the judgement, He will be their defense attorney and through Him they will be judged innocent.
"Authoritative and Final"
He Authored it all and He has the Final word.
God bless you.
