Meet Mr. "A". "A" is 29 yrs old, good looking, intelligent, tattoo artist that's also involved w/ politics & majored in biochem in college(quit college to be a tattoo artist, but he's quite good though). He's a "lady's man."

Last weekend, there was a very important tattoo convention for a company that he was starting to do work with. The person in charge of the convention paid for A's airfare ticket so that "A" could travel for free & work this convention. The person in charge also spent a LOT of time & money putting "A" on the ads, website, etc. "A" knew this. The same day "A" was due to fly in for the convention, he wrote a simple e-mail saying "dude I don't want to do this." Now is he responsible enough to be having a kid??

Now meet Miss "B". "B" is 24, has a Bachelor's degree in biochem, also involved in political campaigns, has an artistic side like "A" but was too busy working her butt off at multiple boring jobs to ever pursue it(she came from poverty). "B" lives..

...by herself in an apartment, works 2-3 jobs, obsesses about money & building good credit. She does whatever it takes(as long as it's moral & legal) to succeed & survive. At 2am on a Sunday night when her tattoo convention friend's out-of-town friend called, needing a ride & a place to stay, she was there to help out...and still made it into work on time the next morning! Is "B" responsible enough to raise a kid?

Both "A" and "B" are currently single. "A" is a lady's man but seems caring enough. "B" is single but has had long-term relationships before & can committ when necessary(such as for the sake of a kid)...sometimes she's committed almost too much instead of dumping the guy when she should have!

So which one seems more responsible to have a kid?

Of these 2 people, 1 of them is frequently mocked & chastised by others regarding his/her ability to be a good parent...guess which one, "A" or "B"?

PS -- "A" and "B" have mutual acquaintences, but have never actually met.

LOL nope. "B" is VERY different than Britney Spears. For one, she is a lot more educated, responsible, and thrifty with money. "A" is not K-fed, although he likes tatoos.

I am genuinely curious to know which one you think is better equipped.

UPDATE: "A"'s reason for blowing off the convention was for no good reason at all...and it wasn't because of any kid either. He simply didn't think it was that big of a deal to bail out of something that he'd gotten a free airline ticket for. After all, he's a lady's man and people spoil him all the time, so he's used to it.

UPDATE: And just maybe the reason "B" is a workaholic, is in preparation for a time in the future that she'd want to have kids??? >:( Whatever happened to the fable about the ants and the grasshopper? Work hard now, relax/spend time with family later?

They both sound like they could be perfectly good parents. Maybe A had a good reason for not wanting to go to the convention. Backing out of a single event does not make one irresponsible as a parent it may actually mean they are more capable of being a good parent. Reasons mean a lot. Also having degrees, being a workaholic, and committing to people who one shouldn't would tend to take away from a persons ability to parent.
