That's me right now! At work and sick. :(
Yesterday I was worse though, and the day before I wasn't even sick. It came on fast.
Take Vitamin C, stay warm, drink lots of water and sleep as much as possible. Keep your sinuses clear with Advil because if they get blocked for too long, you run the risk of a sinus infection.
Avoid the Dayquil and Nyquil type stuff. It disturbs your natural sleep cycle and stays in your system for a while, making you feel loopy and out of it.

Oh dear, Ramona.
Colds about have to run their course. But there are things you can do to be less miserable:
1)Drink hot things, especially hot salty drinks. You need the liquid and the salt will help sooth your throat. And the steam will help your nose.
2)Take extra vitamin C and garlic tablets to boost your immune system.
3)Use Zinc Lozenges: Those also help sooth your throat.
4)While I normally don't advocate medicines, you might even consider using Nyquil so you can rest.
5)And speaking of rest, rest when you can.
Good luck!

This is what I do: One chewable Vitamin C 500mg 4x a day, One Echinacea 350mg 4x a day, Two Zinc taplets 50mg 2x a day, and drink one of those Vitamin C drinks.
I have 3 kids so when I start to feel like crap from any of those symptoms if not all I do the above.
Take care! :-)

That's never any fun!! You can get a nasal spray called Zycam over the counter. This usually works better at the very onset of the cold. Or you can get a prescription for a z-pak (antibiotic) which I found was the quickest way for relief.
Good Luck!!

2 days is unreasonable, but you can try Airborne, or Emergency, they will boost your immune system. honestly colds usually take 7-14 days to clear the system so what you are asking for considering it is viral, is just not reasonable, but these should help a little.
I also take Thera-Flu severe cold, they have a daytime and night time, take the night time a couple of hours early tonight and go to bed, usually a good solid sleep is best for cold and flu.
Good Luck

Products like Zicam and Airborne can shorten the duration and intensity of a cold but they must be taken at the onset, when the very first symptoms appear. All you can do is treat the symptoms.
