Throughout the Bible we find it repeatedly implied that each individual soul has its tutelary angel. Thus Abraham, when sending his steward to seek a wife for Isaac, says: "He will send His angel before thee" (Genesis 24:7). The words of the ninetieth Psalm which the devil quoted to our Lord (Matthew 4:6) are well known, and Judith accounts for her heroic deed by saying: "As the Lord liveth, His angel hath been my keeper" (xiii, 20). These passages and many like them (Genesis 16:6-32; Hosea 12:4; 1 Kings 19:5; Acts 12:7; Psalm 33:8), though they will not of themselves demonstrate the doctrine that every individual has his appointed guardian angel, receive their complement in our Saviour's words: "See that you despise not one of these little ones; for I say to you that their angels in Heaven always see the face of My Father Who is in Heaven" (Matthew 18:10), words which illustrate the remark of St. Augustine: "What lies hidden in the Old Testament, is made manifest in the New". Indeed, the book of Tobias seems intended to teach this truth more than any other, and St. Jerome in his commentary on the above words of our Lord says: "The dignity of a soul is so great, that each has a guardian angel from its birth." The general doctrine that the angels are our appointed guardians is considered to be a point of faith, but that each individual member of the human race has his own individual guardian angel is not of faith (de fide); the view has, however, such strong support from the Doctors of the Church that it would be rash to deny it

Well, it depends on what you believe in. If you've got a strong religious or spiritual belief, then yes, I suppose so.

I think though, when you talk to yourself, you're thinking out loud. You are speaking your thoughts and sometimes may not realize it. That's pretty different from being fully aware that you are alone and talking to say... thin air (or yourself).

No such thing as guardian angels. Thats a "churchianity" concept that has no basis in fact. When we talk to God, we may not SEE Him but we know He is listening because He says He is.

We who are believers have God resident IN us. There is no need in this present dispensation for the help of Angels when we have God HIMSELF.

Sometimes I talk to my 'Spirit Guide', Dana. He was my fiance, but died saving his father's life. He and his father, and I were on a major highway in San Diego returning from taking Pop to the doctors. His father's cane blew off the top of the truck. Pop wanted to get out on a 5 lane freeway to get it because Dana had made it for him. Dana got out, retrieved the cane, then got hit, and subsequently died on the spot. It will be 4 years tomorrow, and I still talk to him asking him, "How'm I doin'".

When I talk to myself, I say "Self,.........."
The funny thing is myself never talks back. At least I don't think it does. Even if it did it would sound just like me so I don't think I would know the difference.

Its just a way of thinking things over.

"I don't talk to myself. They take people away who talk to themselves. They're coming to take you away Ha! Ha!"

Only if you feel you are talking to another person. When I talk to myself I know its just me. Its the way I think things over.

Another one of religons methods to deceive.

Since I assume your speaking about the Judeo/Christian faith this question could be answered by reading your bible.
