for computers. they used to have it at my old school, and what it does is enables you to create a cartoon. you draw your immage like on paint, and then you click a buton to store that image. you then move it slightly, and like the flip books eventually you would get an animation.
does any body know what it is called, or a way to do it.

Adobe (formerly known as Macromedia) flash CS3 can do what you just described. It's a vector graphic program that allows with a timeline that allows you to animate graphics.

Sounds almost like Macromedia Fireworks... it allowed you to create animated pictures...

Macromedia is now owned by Adobe though... so it may be hard to find. That sounds like its it, but I am probably wrong :P. People use fireworks for making moving images for websites etc...
