I think this is great for the whole Ganassi Racing team. I like seeing another open-wheel great jump over to challenge themselves in what I think is the greatest form of racing there is, hands down. They both have a lot of learning to do, and I hope Montoya gets his head on straight by next season if he wants to be taken seriously in CUP. Ganassi needs some solid talent behind the wheel of his cars, and now hes got it. They just need some experience under their belts now.

They should be fine as teammates, it's just a matter of how competitive they will be at the ovals. I'm sure these open wheel guys would want another road course or two added to the schedule. Unfortunately road courses aren't a great live event although I did enjoy attending this years Glen race.

I think as a whole you really arnt getting too much. Lets face it anyone who knows anything about racing knows these open wheel guys are no longer in their prime. They arnt hungry...they are just looking for money and NASCAR provides that, something Champ Car and the IRL could not. Franchitti went to NASCAR because of his age and the fact that cup cars are much safer then open wheel cars. Franchitti will be a 15-30th place driver. He will never make the chase and will never win a race. Just like Jacque Villeunve

They will be just fine as team mates they both are real likeable guys.. Montoya still has alot to learn..Franchitti will be a quick learner I feel.. Ganassi Racing has two great drivers, and unfortunately the 3rd driver Sorenson, will not get much attention.. Its going to be fun watching how this all plays out next season. Hopefully Dario won't crash as many as Juan did this yr.

You know, I really don't watch race car driving, neither of the two major racing factions, but when I saw this on the news that another F-1 driver was moving to NASCAR, I thought whoever gets this dude is gonna make money cause of the turn the person has made. Now to here he will be in the same team as the other guy who left F-1, is really news!! Ganassi is gonna make money just by having these guys together, nice p.r. move, even an avid football fan like me got interested in this move. Now as for F-1, they better hope that girl who's racing wins or else the s**t is gonna hit the fan and they're really gonna lose their fan base!

I think as teammates they'll do just fine. Montoya appears to be a likable sort of fellow and of course he now has one year (almost) under his belt so I think they'll be good together. I am VERY concerned about Franchitti's ability to grasp the finer points of NASCAR racing. I think the learn curve would be better served with some time in the Busch (or whatever it's going to be called) Series.

Montoya's success now has people thinking that anyone can make the jump. It mirrors Villeneuve's success back in 1996 in F1. It started a brief period of drivers like Zanardi and Da Matta who tried unsuccessfully to make the move over. Montoya as well though had more success and had plenty of US based drivers linked with drives for F1. It was a faze that just faded eventually.

Right now moving from single-seaters to stock cars is now 'the thing' to do. But it's going to be quite a reality check for those coming in when they realise it's not as easy as Montoya has made it look at times. Good luck to DF though. Always been a solid driver and if he's fully commited to this the sooner he gets into a stock car the better to start getting himself aclimatized to it.

Sounds like some of the old CART guys are trying to ruin another type of racing. Franchitti will cause many wrecks, just like Montoya.

If they share notes then they will benefit from being team mates as they can discuss the differences between open wheel and stock car and the differences in handling between the two.

Ganassi is a genius in hiring some big time names to his team! He knows that Nascar ratings are down and he will cash in on the publicity before leaving his Nascar team for the green.
