I have light-brown hair that is just below my shoulders. It has average thickness. Its wavy in medium humidity, & curly in high humidity. Years ago, it was long, frizzy, split, etc. That kind of long hair *does not * look good. So I cut it & learned to straighten it. I still need to find the right hair serum (for protection, shine and no-frizz) but...IF I find a serum that gives me shiny, mostly humidity-proof hair...should go long? I'll never have that unhealthy/trashy look again, but I'm tempted to try for long/*healthy* hair this time--down to my bra strap.

With the right product, should I grow my hair out? Maybe I shouldn't because I'm 5'3 & scrawny so long hair might hide me. But that's not what I want! Done correctly, long hair can make you *stand out*, especially with some shine serum & a couple layers. What do you think?

PS--Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide might be the right product. Haven't tried yet.

APS--My hair waves/curls when its short.

I live in Puerto Rico and deal with the worst humidity factor I've ever had to deal with. My solution was to flat iron my hair with a CHI flat iron I got from e-bay for about $68.00. go to folica.com and check out their comparison chart on irons. Also, as for a serum try CHI silk infusion. It is the best invention since slice bread.

I can relate to your problem. About the only difference is that mine is dark brown. Now to break down your problem:
1.) Frizz. If you want your hair curly/ wavy, this is what I do. I use Herbal Essence Totally Twisted shampoo and conditioner. After the shower, I use Sun Silk's De Frizz creme (green bottle) and also No Puff creme (blue bottle). My hair is extra curly so I have to use curling gel as well but you don't have to.
2.) Length. My hair goes down to the middle of my back. I just follow the steps and my hair stays healthy. You could also ask your hair stylist if they can thin your hair. As long as you get the frizz under control, your hair would look great. Also keep in mind that guys like girls with long hair. I know my husband does.

If you choose not to go with curls, I cannot really help you. It took me more than twenty years to get my curls under control. Whatever you choose, you just have to believe in yourself and you will look great.

i am only 13 but i know what looks cute and what doesnt
i think you should cut it mediam then its not long -so its like you cant aford a haircut or short-so you look like a kid!
you should also feather it so it looks soft and cute
also straighten your hair then add cirum to make it stay straight! HOPE THIS HAIRSTYLE WORKS OUT FOR YOU!
