Are you an atheist who's just pointing out that it's more likely that god considers diseases as his best creation rather than us? I can't imagine you really believe your first point.
Since the reproduction rates and lifespan of diseases are so large and small respectively, it is no great surprise that they evolve more quickly than larger organisms.
There is also likely to be a greater range of mutations that could be tolerated given the greater basic simplicity of the design.
I should point out I'm an atheist, so don't agree that anything was designed.

No. I would have to disagree with you because evolutionarily, diseases tend to progress towards the less lethal and nasty as time goes on. Any disease that kills it's host is at a disadvantage, because obviously, once the host dies the disease has no host and no vector. Even if the disease is merely a chronic one and does not kill the host, if it is one that reduces the fitness of the host at a time of reproductive potential, it's going to reduce it's hosts population slowly. Over time diseases that are merely irritating and not lethal are going to be the ones we see mostly, and our bodies have evolved strategies to deal with them in addition to vaccines, which aren't under the same pressures as antibiotics when it comes to the development of resistance. Viruses and bacteria do evolve very quickly, that's true, and they could assist in wiping out a species, but to say the equivalent of the universe is ordered so that diseases will thrive is false, because while I think we will always have problems with disease, there are ways to beat them out and still survive.

Everything is cause and effect. Disease has a cause and is the effect of something. Unhealthy living. Unhealthy thinking and feeling. Air and water pollution. Toxic this and that. All suffering has a cause and is there for a very good purpose, to show us that we are making mistakes so that we can correct them. Society in general has not realized this yet for the most part, but when it does, life as we know it will greatly improve. Things like selfishness and vanity are erroneous thinking and contribute to disease. They are disease of the mind which is the causal center for the body. So get it together and knock that crap off!

It's possible. But there are those who live an entire lifetime without getting a disease.
Biology has something to do with it and the laws of the universe.
But the amazing thing is God created us to even find the cures to most of these terrible diseases. Imagine the creation of pennicillin. How could we ever live without it?
The downfall is the more drugs that we create the more mutations in cells and organisms, thus the introduction to other diseases.

I live on a tropical island where leschmeniasis (really bad spelling on that) is common. It is a curable form of leprosy, but parts of people disolve. The medical approach to it is 40 shots over 20 days with something about as toxic as arsenic. Many people go into convultions just from the cure. The local witch doctors have a cure, and it does work. It has been documented several times that i have seen. It is entirely natural and works in a couple of days. Also, Interferon is the most potent cure for cancer yet found to date, but what they don't tell you is that interferon is the by-product of the natural breakdown of Vitamin C in your system. You could very well cure cancer with high doses of Vitamin C, but they won't tell you about either of these things.

Some of the answers in here make me laugh.
Yes, the universe is a disease play ground. If we had perfect immune systems, various diseases would adapt to fight us.
The OP is making a point about how stupid ID sounds.
God, it's as if a lot of you don't realize most diseases are caused by your body being assualted by bacteria and virii.

You must have read some Stephen J. Gould. He hypothesised that bacteria are the dominent life form and the onl reason evolution seems to develop towards complexity is because that is the only way it can go, because it can't get less complex than a simple unicellular bacterium.
Virus' don't count.

The base of this so-called question is a gross exaggeration.
Lots of these incurable diseases have been procuded due to mandkinds negligence.
Blaming God solves nothing, but, trying to follow his steps is key to understanding his plans. I'm not talking about perfection instead thriving to live a wholsome life to the best of our imperfect ability.

well sure. why not? we over proliferating humans have become like a plague that is killing the host, a disease that is ravaging the Earth. egotistical humans who feel "God" created the Earth (yea, even the entire universe) for their sole benefit can find confirmation for their self centered view by seeing themselves as part of a horrid cancer like illness that is spreading to all organs of the ecology.
yep ... "God" favors diseases. you can tell because we humans are such successful germs.

That's funny. Diseases didn't exist until after the fall (which is after the creation of the world). Everything was perfect until Adam and Eve screwed up.
