What is sinister about our completely public and open beliefs and worship?

That's a when did you stop beating you wife question. If you want any reasonable answer you need to say why you think the Catholic church is sinister.

I agree with Catholic crusader.. we tend to forget all the good things Catholics have done and the Church itself for some bad priests who made a very poor judgement. Even a priest can be tempted by evilish thoughts just as any other human being.
Catholics have lots of crusaders trying to provide the Word of God in places where you can´t even think of and also provides lots of helps having orphanages, old people's, homeless and declared terminally ill people´s homes. Caritas is one of many Catholic Church related ONG´s.
I know you won´t give me any points but if this answer will help to ease your sinister thoughts against the Catholic Church, I will be then very happy.

I don't know, but the catholic church deos do a lot of good work with the homeless and refugees where I live.

No way! That's part of our mystique. How many movies are made about Baptists? Not many. However, Catholics are always depicted in popular culture as the ultimate authority on righteousness or the ultimate hypocrites. The more you demonize us, the bigger we become.

if the priests didn't "touch" little boys? if the church wasn't corrupt for hundreds of years collecting unwaranted taxes? Letting people into the clergy if they paid enough? Ever heard of the Spanish inquistion?
ya they would be more popular, and even make christianity more believable if they weren't like that.
