Hi And maybe he was not lieing in true love ,It comes from the heart. A persons beauty comes from the inside. People worry themselves to death about how much they weigh Or if they are and have enough makeup on However to each his own Many men find heavy women very attractive while others choose skin and bones. Love is a wonderful thing and most men choose the woman that makes him happy. It really does not matter about weight. So it just is if you believe him or not!

First off, I'm going to speak as a Christian, not a Muslim or Jew. When Jesus died, the curtain in the tabernacle (separating the Holy area from the common area) was split, removing the barrier between man and God. There is no longer a need to confess our sins to another man. We are welcome at His feet and can confess to Him.
To answer your question, we ARE breaking the ninth commandment. Any word spoken that is not true is a lie. Black and white. But that's the beauty of salvation: we are forgiven. God also uses sin. He knows we're going to do it, so He uses it. If it helps to keep harmony in the home, then let it be. God knows we're not being spiteful with it. The husband is doing his part to keep peace in the home. If the wife doesn't want her husband to lie at all, she can also do her part by spending a few extra minutes on her bicycle to work on her butt.
Go ahead. Send the hate mail. It's not fun to hear, but I'm giving my LOGICAL response to a public question.

Maybe the men who make comments like this to their wife aren't lying, did you ever think about that? These men see the beauty and love inside the woman they love which is much more important than that outer package. Don't be so quick to judge what others have done without knowing them :)

Any untruth is an abomination to God. There are no "white" lies. They are all black ones.
So much for lying, to destroy the body with fat is also a sin. The body was prepared to be the temple of God because He wants to live in and through us. If we defile our bodies, we defile the temple of God.
I, too, was fat for many years. I thought I could not use weight but I finally decided that I did not want to stay fat and would not accept anything other than losing weight. I did lose weight after being fat for 50 years. I could not believe how much self esteem meant to me until I became more of what I wanted to be.

Solomon wrote a effective assertion in some words: professional 26:28 A mendacity tongue hateth people who're troubled with the help of it; and a flattering mouth worketh destroy. the 1st area of that's what I consult with...you have someone mendacity to a diverse person. the single with the mendacity tongue HATES, and it inflicts a wound to the guy being lied to.

The ninth commandment is;
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
This implies a willful and intentional lie aimed at hurting another person.
Now compare that to a guy telling his wife she doesn't look fat. Clearly they are two different things.

Have you not read where the midwives of Israel lied to Pharaoh, and were commended by God?
If the husband lies out of love for his wife, the law is fulfilled, and the letter is trumped.
