I had just had my first cataract surgery. I wasnt allowed to wear any jewelry during the surgery so it was all in my purse. After we got home I was feeling sick from the meds and wanted to take a nap. He mentioned that I never put my jewelry back on so I asked for my purse so that I could out it back on. He said he would put it on for me so I laid down on the bed and he started to put everything back on. I had a double heart ring that he gave me for christmas on my left ring finger......when he put it on I noticed it felt a little different. Thats when he said "Will you look at that" I looked and the rest is history......we are happily married.
Since I was nearly legally blind he wanted the first thing I was able to see after the surgery be my new ring. He had originally planned to slip it on my finger just after I got out of surgery but he didnt get the chance.
It was so sweet.

I took her on a cruise and I proposed in our state room after watching a movie on the room TV. I did it without a ring because the movie made me so happy to be with her and realize that I wanted to be with her for the rest of my life. Leter that day we went into Grand Cayman and picked out a ring together. We both go exactly what we wanted and now we go back to Grand Cayman every now and again. It has made it special! We have been married 5 years and are having a kid this friday!

My husband never did propose to me or give me an engagement ring - and I resent him for it to this day, especially now that all of my friends are getting married and have these fabulous rings and proposal stories - that's a moment a gril dreams of her whole life - a story that she tells her friends, kids and grandkids for years to come - It sucks when you're cheated out of it. I don't know if you're asking this because you're planing on proposing to someone, but if you are, plan out a nice, thoughtful proposal and give her the gift of a beautiful ring - she will be swept off her feet and she will appreciate it for the rest of her life. I have now been married for four years and am pregnant with our second child - still no engagement ring or wedding ring! :(

I took her to a popular restaurant in Atlanta, where I lived at the time, which was a revolving restaurant on the top of a hotel. Very nice, very expensive. I made one "tiny" mistake, though, I proposed to her before the dinner arrived and she was too excited to eat her meal. :)

My Fiance and I talked about getting married. He asked my Dad for my hand in marriage so I knew a proposal was in the making. My boyfriend at the time took me horseback riding,it was beautiful and romantic. He then took me to Kent Lake. He proposed to me on a grassy hill over looking the lake and sunset. It was soo romantic.

I proposed to my former husband in the car - on the way to a folk-dance festival. I was driving and said something about our getting married- I don't remember what I said - but he sat bolt-up straight and looked wild-eyed. Then he settled back down and agreed that it was the next logical step in our relationship.

Drop a hint. I told her carefreely when we walk down the park we need to plan where to live in the future. We also need to start saving for our future. She sort of got it.
