Have a look on a map. North of the Tropic of Capricorn, it is tropical and hot because it is near the equator, then it gets colder as you go south and get closer to the Antarctic. Along the eastern seaboard there is a mountain range called the Great Dividing Range - temperatures are colder in towns in this area because of their height above sea level. The deserts are extremely hot during the day but can become extremely cold at night. There are the wet tropics, savannah, desert, snow - everything. It is a large country. We measure our temperature in degrees celsius which means that zero degrees is freezing point. At the moment, where I live, north of the tropic of capricorn, it is 11pm at night and 26 degrees celsius, it rained two days ago. Hobart is the capital of Tasmania (the island at the bottom) and it is 4 degrees there at the moment and raining. Summer doesn't start until 1st December. Hope this helps..

Australia is a huge country with climates ranging from tropical monsoon to desert to alpine. Look at the Bureau of Meteorology's web page at http://www.bom.gov.au/climate for a comprehensive look at Australia's climate.

Darwin Northern territory usually around 30 to 34 degrees everyday (and thats celcius, not F) thats in the north end of Australia.
Down South in Victoria, Tasmania and the SE corner of the continent it is cooler due to being further from the equator. It is cool for us but maybe not for some visitors from the northern hemisphere who are used to cold cold weather.
If you are visiting, just bring a cardigan or jumper, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, swim suits, comfortable clothing. We spend a lot of our time in Australia outside because of good weather all year round in general.

We live in a very large country, our climate is diverse.
You need to specify where you're talking about.
There is no average for Australia.
Cairns and Darwin are in the Tropics where as Hobart is closer to the Antarctic Ocean.

It depends where you are - the top half (NT QLD WA) is almost always hot and lower half can be really cold and frosty - one thing you ca count on is that it wont rain!
