You shouldn't work the same muslce groups back to back days. If you're still sore after a few days and you want to work those muscles again, just do a lighter version of the workout that made you sore. That way, you're still increasing blood flow to that area, which helps in the healing process, but you're not overexerting yourself to the point that you're tearing down your muscle tissue again.

I am presently trying to build some muscle and gain some weight... and doing a lot of research and reading.

One thing I have read in many places, is that "you should not workout if your muscles are sore"

You'll be doing more harm than good.

I have a blog where people can follow my progress. Check it out some time if you want to - http://www.buildmuscleandgainweight.com

Hope this helps...

you need to wait until the soreness go away. you need to exercise other body parts while the soreness go away. you need to start ready magazines like muscle & fitness or Flex. you cant work the same muscles all the time, if you do your over training and muscles that are over train don't grow.

It depends on what youre building on. Upper body and major muscles should rest for 1 day to build up. I think abs you could work every day to shred them up. And do lots of cardio.. to show off muscles better.
