create a chart at school or home to reward him with stars for not wetting him self. tell him you will treat him with something if he stays dry for the day. tell the teacher to encourage him to go to loo every so often

You need to find out why he wets himself at school . I assume because you highlight school he does not do it anywhere else.
If that is the case then there must be a reason why he does it at school .
Does he not like going to what will be a communal toilet ?? or is he only comfortable asking mum or dad to take him to the toilet
Maybe just some reassurance that all little boys need to use toilets away from home at some time or other .
And yes as others have suggested have a reward system for the days he comes home dry , doesn't need to be anything big , just simple recognition that he has succeeded.
Good Luck

Buy some electro pants. Chumley warner advertised an electro bed back in the 90s on his show Harry Enfield and Chums. It was a genious device that when the child wet him/her self at night the bed would electricute him/her just enough to wake them up to go the the loo. The same logic can be applied in the electro pants... just a small shock nothing lethal of course ;-)
Failing that how about ritual humiliation?
Ok Ok I think the others are right there is no HUMANE cure ;-)

if he just started school this september and was dry in the day beforehand, i had exactly the same problem last Jan when my little lad started school - all i can say is rest assured that he will grow out of it and it is just a phase.

1. I made sure his teacher asked him to go to the toilet at regular intervals,

2. made sure that there was some sort of small treat EVERY time he was dry during the day,

3. sent a small bundle with a pair of pants and trousers to school for the teacher and left it there - just in case.

i had this problem for three months, after which he just stopped wetting himself, but during that phase i had several calls from the school saying that he was wet and was LYING about it and refusing to change!! even though it was obvious! (got around that by the teacher asking if she had to ring me - he did not want my disapproval by having to come to school and change him .

good luck (and if you have any tips for keeping dry on a NIGHT it would be appreciated!)

What age are you talking about?
Day care or pre-school, unless they are willing to particapte in the training, it will just be a matter of time.
If regular school, I would try talking to him. Ask why he doesn't use the bathrooms?
One of my grandsons started wetting himself in the first grade and it had to do with the fear we put in him about strangers. He had to go out of the classroom and to the other end of his building.
We taught him to use the restroom during recess and lunch. In no time, this was not a problem.

this is something that mother nature is going to have to take care of, all children do this they are so busy with there school activities they forget, try not to make an issue out of it, as im sure you always do, put some clean pants & trousers in his bag, on the way to school tell him if he is a big boy & doe'snt wee himself, you will buy him a treat after school, many people would class that as a bribe i see it as an incentive for him, to think about & looked forward to, if he goes to the toilet good luck x

I have been suggesting this to everyone because it seems like such a good idea...they have wrist timers for about $10 and they light up and play music to remind you to try and use the potty...it's got settings for 30 60 and 90 minutes....they have more expensive ones that vibrate and you can use them to tell time..but those are around $50 and up.....

You know what people...kids dont alway have hidden psychological issues...sometimes they just forget to go to the bathroom because they're having too much fun playing

I am not sure how old he is, but have the teacher let him go to the bathroom every hour or so--get a note from your doctor if you must. He may need a reminder because he's too busy to recognize he needs to. Lots of little boys are like that.

I would try to figure out why this is happening. Ask him, is he being bullied, anxiety, it could be a number of things and get his teacher to ask him if he needs to go and perhaps if there is a TA they walk him to the toilet, for me personally I would have alarm bells ringing. I would look into a deeper issue.

You can't!
Was he dry before he started school and how long for ? I'm asking because my nephew started having accidents in school and it turned out he was being bullied - so I would ask your son and the teacher if there is a problem at school and take it fron there!! GOOD LUCK - HOPE YOUR LITTLE BOY IS O.K.
