If the people of Iraq were offered freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and a Bill of Rights, they would reject it.

It is a myth that the word is mighter than the sword.

The Iraqi people did accept freedom of religion, freedom of speech and Constitutional rights when they voted in a UN-certified national referendum to approve their current constitution.

Sounds like you need to start listen to more objective news sources.

Well, that's three true or false questions.

1. Depends on what you want to accomplish. If we put every American soldier in existence in Iraq, we could probably effectively suppress the terrorist insurgents and keep more from coming in. Then we would have to leave them there in perpetuity, since when we left they would come right back.

2. I believe they would reject freedom of religion, etc., since the majority of Iraqis believe in an Islam that requires submitting to the mullahs and it would never be acceptable to speak out against them, unless you were another mullah. And without troops, I don't believe they'd allow Christian missionaries to set up shop and try to convert Muslims. But we supposedly went to Iraq to bring them freedom, which should include the freedom to reject our ideals.

3. The actual saying is "the pen is mightier than the sword", which refers to things like signing peace treaties, etc. I consider peace treaties to be more powerful than soldiers.

True, more boots on the ground would aid in the efforts. The people of Iraq would accept freedom of religion, speech and a bill of rights in a heartbeat. Freedom of religion is kind of moot though: most all of them would choose Islam. I believe Iraq is currently considered an Islamic Democracy / Republic.

We need LESS troops and guns and bullets. What we need is a really big bomb.

The whole country can be used as a parking lot for foreign dignitries who are visiting other countries.

The question is:

Will more troops and bullets bring the freedoms you mention to Iraq?

I think we've seen the answer to that question.
