Maybe the person who taught you religion made some mistakes, but that doesn't change the real message of Bible. Go and read about Jesus and you'll see that he tells us to love one another. Did your parent/pastor teach you that? If not, then ignore them, they are not preaching God's word.

From my perspective, this phrase does have some truth to it. The way I see it and the way many others see it is that to be a Christian is to live life like Jesus. The deal however is that Christianity is usually considered to be a religion so therefore, it's burdened by rules and that kind of stuff. The question for most Christians is: a) are they a Christian because they follow the rules or b) because they live their lives like Jesus. Many devoted Christians believe that to be a true Christian, you need to be (b). That is the problem with Christianity. When you believe that all it takes to be a Christian is just to follow a few simple rules and not live it, when to some extent, Christianity is a mental illness. and @bob, the deal with many other religions is that they are formed through a set list of rules where breaking them is the end of the world... In those cases, to be a follower of those religions are simply just following the rules formed within that belief pattern.

The zealots who say to others: "If you don't accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour you will go to hell." are certainly guilty of mental terrorism. Even having that attitude without saying those words could be defined as mental terrorism because it could cause an unknowing person to feel badly/like there is something wrong with them. Children are especially vulnerable as they are so sensitive and open to the attitudes and behavior of adults - to a young child every adult is in a position of authority. There are countless other examples of this in "christian" behavior. I use quotes because not everyone who is a christian is going to be like this, but in the USA the majority are - enough to affect the government. laws, and the "social norms."

Control is the main objective of Christianity. I'm not saying nothing good came out of the bible; but nothing good came out of the bible that thousands of other artists, writers, and musicians haven't already said - often much more eloquently and in a much more positive way.

No, you're thinking of Paulian fundamentalism. That is mental terrorism, as it discourages compassion to those different from oneself, as well as encouraging sexism, classism, and the rejection of science and knowledge.

Let's assume there is no Christians....Does this change your eventuality? Christians share the good news that man can be rejoined to a righteous God through the atonement he provided and have everlasting life. In what way does this threaten you?
