I agree. Religion shouldn't interfere with government. Who cares about candidates' church habits???Clinton still has my vote.

I see nothing wrong with voters voting due to Christian beliefs. If someone opposes gay marriage or abortion, then by all means write your congressman/woman and vote against it. I dont have a problem with political leaders being Christians.
I do have problems with Christian political groups and Christian groups endorsing a candidate or lambasting another. If they want to print pamphlets about where leaders or candidates stand on issues then do it, but dont call me a good person for voting for "your guy" or condemning me for voting for "the other guy."
Christians need to show more grace to sinners and not constantly condemn people. Peopel see Christians as being unloving and ungracious. You see those viewpoints here on R&S (and some people are really good at confirming those opinions). I wish Christians would show more love and silently "condemn" those with non-Christian ideas with their vote and not their voice. I think that the world would be a better place and the democratic process would take care of the rest.

I think you are right that we should not be a particular party in politics, but we should be for the righteous causes whether it be with political means or through the preaching of the gospel.
This is the prophecy about Jesus' reign on earth;
Daniel 7:14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
and of course the prophecy in Isaiah 9 about the government of God's Kingdom ever increasing.
This tells me we are to preach his righteousness to even the nations and that means politics.

I have no clue what you mean by that but ok.
There are all sorts of christians...we are Democrats, Republicans, Independents...We are low-income, Middle-class...We are white, black, spanish....we have blond hair, brown hair...we have blue eyes, brown eyes...we are different.
We share one thing: We believe Jesus was the son of God.
My opinion on Abortion doesn't have anything to do with my religion, But everything to do with experiences of friends who did it and being a mother myself.
My opinion on Gay marriage isn't about the bible either...Its about what marriage means and why should we change it from people who think they are getting some tax break, or want to say I do, In what they think is in front of God, so they can scream "F-You" Too him. I want a good non-money and selfish reason why a civil partnership isn't a good idea. Homsexuality and Heterosexuality is different and the name of the partnership should be different as well..
I can go on and on...but my opinion is not ruled by what I believe.

This is supposed to happen. Politics is no longer a competition between spending and non-spending, bills or vetoed bills, etc. It is a competition between good and evil...the sooner people realize that, the sooner the harvest will come and Christian-Americans can begin being challenged and tortured because of their faith (Jesus Christ is the ONLY WAY, the ONLY TRUTH, and the ONLY LIFE). Other countries Christians already are being tortured and killed. This is all as it should be. There will be many deceivers who will claim they are Christians but who bomb abortion clinics, etc. just so Christians will be blamed. Please GET IT. It is prophesied in the Bible. We are not afraid. We will die for our faith...not in battle but standing firmly on the faith that we will be in His kingdom sooner. We are to Love God and love one another...not just Christians, everyone. Especially our enemies.

No I do not agree. I believe that as a Christian it is my duty to be involved in what/who may be influencing my country, since afterall, this country was founded on God and Christianity. You should never vote for someone who supports something you don't. With that being said I know every politician has some flaw that everyone dislikes, however I am speaking of a sin. If they are pro-abortion, and you are pro-life then you should not vote for them, b/c then the blood will also be on your hands.

It gets to the Point where Religious Leaders actually tell their flock that " If" the sheep Dont Vote a certain way that they are Not God's Children. No Wonder Jesus said " By their fruits you will recognize them,” Jesus said. “Every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit.”

Umm no. And why does it bother you that Christians are interested in politics, dear one? Actually, it comforts me to know that Christians are involved in city, county, state and Federal government. Because most are honest, caring people who work hard and are fine "public servants."
God bless!

Christians are part of the world. As such, they should participate in politics. If they fail to do so, there will be a vacuum that will be filled with non-Christian participants.

The Bible says that Christians are "ambassadors" for Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:20. Christians have a country. Their citizenship is in Heaven. Philippians 3:20. As citizens of the heavenly country and as ambassadors for God, should Christians meddle with the political affairs of this world? Absolutely not. The moment a Christian meddles with the political affairs of this world, he automatically denies his citizenship and ambassadorship.
If Christ's Kingdom was of this world, then for what kingdom would His servants fight? For a kingdom of this world. For what kingdom would they contend? for what would they work? For the kingdom of this world. Then the man who fights for a kingdom of this world, who contends for supremacy and power in the kingdom of this world, and works for a place in the kingdom of this world, denies his connection with the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, for "His kingdom is not of this world." But that is what many do who are leading this movement of the Christian Right. They seek to take possession of the kingdoms of this world, to rule the governments of this world, to fight, actually to fight, for the governments of this world; to work to put themselves in places of position and relationship to the governments of this world; and therefore they proclaim with the loudest voice they possibly can, that they are of this world and not of the kingdom of Christ at all!
The Lord would have His people bury political questions. On these themes silence is eloquence. Christ calls upon His followers to come into unity on the pure gospel principles of citizenship and ambassadorship which are plainly revealed in the Word of God. We cannot with safety vote for political parties. We cannot with safety take part in any political scheme. It is a mistake for a Christian to link his interests with any political party, to cast his vote with them or for them. God's children are to separate themselves from the political affairs of the governments of this world.
"Our citizenship is in Heaven." "We are ambassadors for Christ." Christians are here to mind the things of the kingdom of Heaven.
These church leaders who profess to be ambassadors for Christ not only express opinions, but they lay down laws, they manipulate campaigns, they mould politics, and shape the whole political course of the governments among the nations and people to whom they are accredited, and thus violate the first, the last, and every principle that is involved in Christian ambassadorship!
