I am thinking of whoever picked the scrolls, various scribes, King James etc...

If George Bush decided to re-translate the Bible, get rid of some scrolls and add others, what would the result be? OK, what if Willie Nelson did? Willard Scott? Jack Black? See what I mean?

The Bible is a political construct, formed by agreement once some sect won out between the 2nd and 4th century. There is striking evidence that the Jesus of the Bible never existed. (1) The Nicene council, the agenda of Constantine, even the agenda of the people who wrote the books, much less compiled them, have effected that text.

Yes, that is obviously a major problem. I think it was predominantly based on what would keep them in power at the time.

I wonder why this point doesn't get more discussion? I think a lot of people, since it's been many generations, think the book was just made of "magic and puppies" or something. We can't forget, people don't even read about what happened 30 years ago, much less 1500 + years.

I personally like Willard Scott's version the best. LOL

You are not the first to ponder this question. Yet, don't you think that a person who is born again would know the answer to this since Christ is in them?

It is written, that Jesus is the Word. If Jesus is the Word of God and he lives in the believers, wouldn't those who are led of Jesus be led to know which bible is the infallible Word of God.

Jesus said his flock will hear and know his voice. And that includes the bible.

I believe the Authorized King James bible is the infallible Word of God. It has stood the test of time and it cuts and shreads all other translations assunder.

Be led of the Holy Spirit. Don't lead. We will always wonder off into wrong directions when we try to do the leading.

Thomas Jefferson did, It's called the Jeffersonian bible and basically he removed everything that made G-d/Jesus look mean and overbearing...it's kind of cool and is a gift we give to our coming of age students at our church each year. So our kids are certainly being sent into the world (hopefully) knowing the good side of 'G-d' not the side where he seeks retribution judges unfairly etc. etc.
