The school will call you and ask you to bring in some dry clothes and get him changed. They used to have spare clothes in the school for situations like this, but in this day and age where there are so many child abuse allegations thrown around, the schools will not take responsibility for helping a young child get changed into dry clothes.

If he is old enough to get washed and changed by himself, and he has regular "accidents", then by all means explain to the teacher and have a spare set of underwear and trousers kept somewhere in the school for him in case of emergencies. But no-one (including a school nurse) is allowed to help him get washed and changed, so if he's too little to do that himself, you'll have to be called in to do that for him.

As fr as i am aware, the mjority of schools have 'spares' for accidents that happen. Also.......put some spares in a bag and leave them at school so the teacher has access to them should an accident occur. Schools are used to little ones wetting themselves, it happens alot.

Find a way to get it to him. If it's something that happens often you might want to talk with the teacher and keep an extra pair of clothes on hand at school so he can change himself. Accidents happen, but sitting in wet clothes all day can cause some major problems because urine against skin is unclean and not healthy. Underclothes are not like diapers, they don't pull the wetness away from skin.

In our school the Kindergarten teacher keeps spare clothes. After that the child can go to the counselor because we do not have a nurse on staff.

As a dinnerlady I can tell you that schools, usually, stock second hand clothes for such cases, not unheard of, believe me. We certainly don't leave kids wet or without clothes.

If you're unsure, you can always leave a change without him/her knowing.

In any case, please remember to return the clothes, the school doesn't have a budget allowances for such things, they're usually donated by parents.

Take him some clean ones give him a hug and tell him you are not angry with him accidents happen but tell him too next time he needs to use the bathroom to ask the teacher if he can leave the clasroom to go. Dont make a big issue out of it so he feels embarrassed cos he probably is anyway .

it depends on the school and the age of the child. my sons school has "pull-ups" put aside for any little accidents. usually the school will just call a parent and have them bring in a change of clothes and the child will sit in the nurses office until the parent arrives.

typically the school nurse has changes of clothing for all sizes. she will give your son dry clothes and send his wet ones home to you. you will need to launder the loaner clothes and return them to the school promptly. if your son has a recurring problem (one of my kids did), you may want to pack a change of clothes into his backpack.

If your son doesn't have a spare pair of underwear, and the school doesn't have any loners, ask if the nurse will rinse them in water and use the hand dryer to blow them dry. If the school nurse will not do that for you, advise him to go without until they are dry and then put them back on.
