I don't think owing God has anything to do with it. If I have a terrible life it is a combination of circumstances, conditioning and, believe it or not, mental attitude.
Circumstances can be caused by Karma, which actually makes more sense to me than the idea that God just randomly picked me out to suffer. Conditioning is the behavior you develop from the teachings of your parents as well as that which you glean from around you.
How to overcome this valuation of life as terrible has much to do with the path you choose when you have a chance to choose at all. This will address Mental Attitude. I choose the 8 fold path as taught by Buddha Sakyamuni. This path is contained in the 4 Noble Truths. These truths are Suffering, the Cause of Suffering, the Cessation of Suffering and the Path.

I would wonder why thier life is so terrible and of they believe. Not that believing will make your life here on earth better. In fact God never promised that your life on earth would be better for believing. Your reward is in heaven. So no they do not owe less/more. They were given the same thing as everyone else....life.

It is not a matter of owing. It is a matter of gratitude. I do not know what you mean by "a terrible life" But I do know that God perfects us in this life for the next. And if you reap all of the glory here you will not in the next. I am grateful for all trails and what could be called "bad" things that occur as much as I am for the "good" things. All is for my good if I believe in God

Everyone owes God everything, and should give thanks with a greatful heart.
People who are poor in this life will be rich in heaven.
Yeshua, was dirt poor when he walked this earth. He did not live the life of a Donald Trump, Bill Gates, or King Solomon.
Yeshua went days without food, and stated it is written that man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of God's mouth.

Many Christians believe in the Proverbs view of the world and see poverty and suffering as indicating sin. Remember Falwell (I think it was) saying Hurricane Katrina was God's wrath against New Orleans?
But Jesus said blessed are the poor, blessed are the poor in spirit, blessed are the meek. That in the Kingdom of Heaven the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
I believe this is because wealth and prosperity make us more fearful and puff up our egos, our greed, our coveting. A person stripped of defenses and ego, broken, is far more vulnerable and therefore far more available to God.

The question is not what we owe God so much as do we want to be with God.

God/Reality is neutral. This multi-dimensional field in which we are embedded is simply responsive to learned ego beliefs (faith) and a mirror of the contents of consciousness. Once humans developed a massive thinking brain and the resulting capacity for higher states of consciousness, we began impacting our reality. Cause and effect are never separated. Karma is a part of the mix as well.

No. God loves them more, making it easier for them to get into heaven. There. Shouldn't that make them feel better?

we don't owe God anything. He doesn't need anything from us. Salvation is a gift. Works don't save you.
