The meek shall inherit the earth, because that was God's purpose for creating the earth for humans to live on it, not for us to live here for a short period of time and then go on to some other place(ie, heaven,hell) as is shown in (Isaiah45:18) For this is what the LORD says—
he who created the heavens,
he is God;
he who fashioned and made the earth,
he founded it;
he did not create it to be empty,
but formed it to be inhabited—
he says:
"I am the LORD,
and there is no other.

The meek shall inherit the earth. One of the beatitudes spoken by Jesus in the sermon on the mount. God loves a meek (humble) man or woman.

Inherit. Meek can be interpreted as humble. Those who acknowledge they must rely on God's grace to see heaven are the meek and humble. I have rarely seen a truly humble Christian, although I have met some truly wonderful people who exhibit humility in many areas of their life. I think it is something for all Christians to strive for.
In terms of inheriting the earth, this is referring to the new heaven and new earth that God restores after the end times.

What is there to explain! The logic is self explanatory.
That many don't want to accept this is their problem and mistake. The Bible teaches that God's kingdom is ruled from heaven by Christ and a small group of Saints who shall rule the nations and earth.
Read Rev 5:8-10, 10 in particular
Also Daniel chapter 7:12~

The meek(Aramaic=humble) - without the demanding ego - shall receive everything they need from reality.
Each of the beatitudes is a characteristic one must achieve in order to experience 'heaven.'

inherit
God will give the meek that have called upon His name and been saved the same paradise that was given to and lost by Adam. This would be after God raptures His Church, and the world goes through the tribulation and those from the earth will be returned to the earth for eternity living in harmony with God.

Gypsy "The meek shall INHERIT the earth"
"meek" does not imply weakness..... it just means that those whom humble themselves and accept God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit will be those whom will have their names written in the Book of Life and have everlasting life when the world is weeded of those whom do not.
When we humbly give God our WILL and accept HIS Will, He works within us and gives us authority, strength, boldness of character and Truth, etc.,.
The "crutch" people claim we have, becomes an all purpose SWORD that pierces even the fog of delusion as to what Scripture is saying. :)
Peace be with you :)
