I've been with my boyfriend for 2 years, living together for 6 months. Next month he is taking me to Vegas. I've never been there before. I found out that we are staying at Paris Hotel, in a luxury suite. It's supposed to be a very romantic hotel, and I'm told the top of the Eiffel Tower is a popular place to pop the question. We are in our early 30's and most of our friends are married or engaged now...so I'm wondering if he will ask me. We don't really talk about marriage much - he's kinda old fashioned in that way.

What do you think my chances are of getting engaged?

Well just come right out and ask him!

It does sound like he's setting up a plan, but what concerns me is the fact that marriage is something you don't discuss. I'd start bringing up the topic over the next month.

We stayed in Paris once-cool place. IMO, the Eiffel Tower is really crowded and not a whole lot of room for a romantic moment. It's simply an elevator ride up, get out, walk around the small square, and ride back down. The staff takes your pic on the way up the elevator.

But if you ARE wishing to be engaged over this trip, I might suggest you encourage a gondala ride over at the Venetian-a bit more romantic. All the best to you! I love Vegas and have stayed in many places, both on and off strip. You will have a blast, and wherever he proposes will be a special moment for you both!

Is he sneaking around? Been super affectionate lately? Has money gone missing and he magically can't remember where he spent it? Have you been to jewelry stores just to "browse"?

I don't think just because you are taking a trip to a romantic spot it means he's proposing. He may just want a weekend away that isn't the Motel 8. Time you've been together is a minor factor IMO, look at the tons of daily questions about guys who take like 4 years to propose and you'll see.

PLEASE DON'T GET YOU'RE HOPES UP!! I really hope he asks you but don't count on it, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. It happened to me, I was totally convinced he would ask (to the point where I had started making plans in my head) and I was wrong. I've never been so devastated and he still hasn't asked me 6 months later. By the way, not talking about marriage much isn't the best sign.

It could very well be! But I'd hate to get your hopes up then for a proposal not to happen would be disastrous. If in the event that it doesn't happen, talk to your boyfriend about marriage anyway. Let us know if it happens!

Probably not very good. It's the shacking up which usually makes a guy see he doesn't need to or want to get married.

Congrats! Just make sure to act surprised :)

Just in case he doesn't. Don't fret. He probably will eventually.

just dont spoil the surprise... dont think about it that much and dont get your hopes up... just enjoy the trip and look forward to being with your guy... and if he does, at least you can act surprised right?

sounds like your chances are 50/50.... have you not done vacations before?? since you already live together, what is there to gain by asking you to marry him... of course as women we see the difference but i wouldn't assume that all men do....

WOOOOOooooooooooooooooo!

Maybe!

But don't get all worked up, because if it ISN'T a proposal plan, then you will be highly disappointed.
