i usually would add garlic salt, Hungarian Vegeta (bouillon powder), chopped onion, bread crumbs, a little white or black pepper, a little of ground coriander, an egg and a little of Steak spices.
Yes I know lots of things in it but they make the burgers tasty :)

I like to keep it simple and just add some garlic, onion and herbs. Sometimes i add a bit of chilli for a kick but i think they are best kept simple...i just eat them with lots of tomato ketchup!

Firstly, I don't use mince. I buy steak and chop it by hand - this takes a while but makes for a better texture.
I don't add anything other than sea salt and pepper - or sometimes a little shallot. However, if I'm going to barbeque them, I quite often roll them in crushed coriander seeds first to make coriander burgers... recipe below

Salt, pepper and a beaten egg to bind it.
edit
a little finely chopped onion as an optional extra is good if you like the taste of onions!

Onions, Mushrooms, a few mixed herbs.
You can add anything like chopped carrots and broccoli. The children don't realise theyre eating it then.

Add a little rusk and the white of an egg to stop it breaking up when you cook it, ask a local butcher (one who make their own) to sell you a small amount of rusk, they will often give you some if you shop there.
