I'm probably out of line in speaking for her, but I haven't seen her yet this morning, and you obviously haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. Therefore, I don't think she'd mind.
The "P" is for purple, a color she likes very much. The "angel" is what she is. Put them together, and you have a sweet, purple angel. Our dear Pangel.

As another answerer has said, it began as a contraction of Purple Angel, purple being a colour she likes. Since she's been here though, the very essence of her positivity has grown beyond itself, so that now you get quite a lot of people, including me, regularly attempting to "embrace their pangelism" - or attempt to be as fair, open-minded, positive, giving and generally hugworthy as the original. It's more difficult than it might sound, and I'm sure this is how messiahs are born(!) but Pangel is truly cool, and is one of a few people here that it can do no harm to emulate in our lives.

I always thought it stood for 'positive angle'.
A convention universally adopted in mathematical writing is that angles given a sign are positive angles if measured counterclockwise.
