God gave us a perfect world and gave man dominion over it until sin, through man, entered in. Thus allowing Satan the foothold to wreck havoc. ...and God gets the blame, but such is the nature of evil.

This is the biggest question for most people, and has been since religion came about.

What i believe is what CS Lewis wrote in The Problem of Pain. Imperfection, pain, desire, these things exist to (1) differentiate us from one another and (2) create a path. If we were completely satisfied all the time there would be no such thing as personal growth, no reason not to sit and do nothing. If the purpose of being alive is to experience life, to have a journey, to come into a place where we can love others then pain and suffering are required to move us along, seeking pleasure and peace.

Ultimately, though, Judaism and Christiniaty concede this remains a mystery. Job suffers greatly and the explanation he ultimately receives is that it's beyond his comprehension but if he believes and walks in faith already he can extend that belief to conclude there is a purpose, he just doesn't know what it is. And even Jesus cried out form the cross, "My God, my God, why have you foresaken me?" It seems that even Jesus did not know the answer to this question while he was alive.

God gave us a perfect world with some imperfections. It's up to us to make the world a better place.

As for God; he owes us nothing.

He gave Adam and Eve a perfect world...they rejected it. He wants us to come back to the perfect world he created (and/or will create) for us...but we have to want to go there.

Our great, great, great to the nth power grandparents ran away from home. We were born and raised in a different place...a place that wasn't perfect by virtue of our very presence there. Billions of people before us made choices that shaped the world we live in just as we each add our own influences to it throughout our lives. Every person on earth makes at least one "less than perfect" decision causing the world to be also, "less than perfect"!

Does God "owe" us a perfect world? Moot point since it is available to all of us already. Is he somehow required to make this offer by virtue of having created us? No...in fact, I'd argue that he's gone out of his way. As a parent, I can't promise a perfect world to my child. I can try to teach him about things that can harm him, but I can't force him to obey me. ...and when he disobeys, his world will be less than perfect...in some cases, ignoring my instructions can result in his death (e.g., running out into the street). I suppose I could prevent him from disobeying by locking him in a closet but what kind of life would that be?

The imperfection of the world proves but one thing...human beings aren't perfect! The simple fact is that we all hurt ourselves and we hurt other people...some certainly do it a lot more than others, but every one of us has made the world less perfect in some way. We don't deserve a perfect world because we have no way of operating in a state of perfection...our imperfect presence in a perfect world would cause that world to be imperfect!

God owes us nothing.

The world isn't perfect because we aren't perfect.

Imperfection has nothing to do with God, as He IS perfect.

No, I don't believe imperfection proves God doesn't exist. I believe imperfection describes mankind perfectly.

God does not owe us a perfect world as long as we are running it.

The millennium describes the world being made over to what we would conclude would be more perfect; more hospitable.

The fact matter exists, let alone the world, points to one who made matter to begin with, unless you prefer to believe matter just somehow popped into existence on its own out of nothing.

I think the imperfection of the world proves either that God doesn't exist, or that he isn't perfect himself.

Beside atheists all religious minded members have given good and very true answers. As most of them said God gave us excellent planet to live that is capable to feed us for ever if we humans care for each other instead of greed. It is we who owe to God for providing us air, water, and sun light without which we can not feed ourselves and survive.

We owe to God for every second of our lives we enjoy on this planet.

I don't know what one has to do with the other. The evidence simply argues against a supernatural creator, regardless of the state of the world.

Unless you're making an argument from intelligent design, in which case, I would think that this God could have done a much better job with a lot of the things he created.

God created and gave us the perfect world. He just asked Adam and Eve not to eat the forbidden fruit. And of course they did. He blamed Eve, Eve blamed the serpent and there has been sin here every since.
Don't blame God, blame man!!!
