As an Atheist, I found it pretty close to the way I feel when being cursed to hell for my beliefs.

The Guy is a bit condescending, but is there a Christian response that doesn't highlight his points?

Outstanding. I particularly like the point about the alleged arrival of jebus. His birth was supposedly known across the country by a king. Wise men journeyed to see. Angels appeared to shepherds. A star guided the wise men on their way where they visited him in the stable (or at his house in the conflicting gospel version). This was THE prophecied event. But no contemporary historian took note of it. Too bad for xians that the evidence for jebus disappears the closer you get to the time of jebus.

I am not an angry Christian just a Christian. I actually hope there is no hell (I believe there is but I don't think it is eternal I believe hell is a place that is absent of love) I don't want anyone to suffer. Those so called Christian's who are angry and want people to be tortured are not real Christian's. I don't feel guilty at all and I can never pay back Jesus like the person in the video said we can only pay him back with our death. That's not true we can't ever pay him back. We don't pay back gifts. I am not indebted to someone who gives me a gift.

The poor guy ran into a lot of children who are yet ill suited to properly witness the Gospel to others. The message of hell is one Jesus told, and he was not gentle in the presentation. But, then, the Roman soldiers were not exactly gentle in the way they drove nails into him, either. The obvious loss represented in the video does not belong to Christians. It is most unfortunate he chooses to attack the newborn who have not yet learned, for in so doing he paints himself as a rather old spoiled brat.

Good Morning! :)

Actually, I found the man's demeanor to be quite pleasant. :)

The only thing I have had a problem with my entire life was that the Bible states we MUST warn people about hell.... and we are wrong not to do so.

I have usually skated around that, but, alas, I have one of those loopholes in my makeup...if I am asked directly about something, I MUST tell the FULL truth about whatever I am asked....and if it's something I do not know, I have to research the topic so I can give a more complete answer. :(

The choices we make in life are often contrary. I rather like my own company and will choose to be alone to pursue reading, writing, studying, drawing, thinking, praying, singing, playing games, etc., even though I also relish having family and other people about me. :) However, I have also felt true loneliness as well in my life..... when it is not of my own choosing, it can be a painful thing psychologically.

People whom choose NOT to accept the Bible, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit have made their choice...hell is within the package deal....

Personally, I find It is unfortunate that the "going to hell" card is played so often...I did not choose my Belief based on that threat, and I doubt that many true believers HAVE ....

Unfortunately, Atheists are quite correct in thinking that the majority of "Christians" did not make the personal choice but had it made for them through traditions, etc.,.

But same can be said of children raised in every other belief or non belief family/environment....and anyone whom chooses something "different" is VIEWED as "different" by their families and social structure no matter WHAT that choice is.

In the matter of Christianity and what the gentleman had said in his video about them....

You and others here in R&S have already seen examples of how "different" some of us Christians are from the rest.

What you are seeing is a very clear example of when a true folllower of Christ is amid the Pharisees and Sadducees that Jesus had a problem with within the Bible. They knew the WORDS and the "laws" and felt "better than others" because of their "wisdom" and "chosen" status..... (the Pharicees were top level vain men of self importance, the Sadducees were a bit more mild but still unable to accept or conform to something so outrageous as what Jesus taught...ie: those of a church declaring they are judge and jury for everyone else and those whom believe that "emotionalism" is of the devil and are quite happy plodding along in safety without it)

Those of us whom are "different" understand exactly what non-believers see and hear from the vast majority of "Christians".

LOL...but, talking to them is somewhat more of a chore then talking to a non-believer! :)

I am stepping on some toes now...but, then, Jesus had to do so quite often in the Bible too and He DID say that we will have the same being done to us as has been done to Him, did it not?

:) It is my opinion that it is not the Atheists that will be having a hard go of it in the future when they stand before Christ for judgement, but it will be those whom turn to their church or faith leader for answers that they themselves should be asking God for!

The "blame game" will not work with Jesus....He is not off somewhere not knowing what is happening, He is able to see and hear everything right now....He and God have given everyone the keys to the Kingdom....They did not give just one copy to the church or their Faith Leader to decide whom goes and whom dioes not.... We all have eyes to read, do we not? We all have been given God's Book to learn from. To disregard what our eyes see in favour of what someone else TELLS us WILL NOT WASH with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit....and certainly not with satan either.

My heart goes out to you and every person whom identifies with this man's video...but, it does not apply to every Christian....

Some of us have heard our Fathers voice and knows that we are His without anyone telling us we are. :)

(sorry so long...can not help it sometimes)

Peace be with you :)

He has a right to his opinion. I did have to laugh when he talked about the price we have to pay is to die ourselves. I thought everyone dies anyway, so small price really. I don't see atheists as getting a "free ride", I see it as punishment that is put off until the end of earthly life. I don't know how much I believe that you'll roast in hell for eternity, because eternal life is granted to believers, so how can you suffere if your dead? I have some questions about things like that, but it doesn't change my faith.

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Seeing then that all these things shall be dissovled, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness.

Greetings Friend,

I want to say that I truly enjoyed that clip. There were a lot of good points made. In addition, I thought it was a bit funny. I do not consider myself a Christian but I do believe in God and I do believe that Jesus was/is a real person. What can anyone say? No one really wins here do they? I mean I know that religious people, in fact most of us, can be very hateful. It's our self-righteousness. But, they are just people trying to make their way in this world and whether one is an atheist or theist one needs to connect to something larger than oneself. I keep wondering what can we do to bring peace to all of our lives? What can we do that will allow each, the atheist and the theist, to live his life in peace? The only answer I know is to live mine in peace. To forgive everyone of everything. To have nothing but love to give. I wish I could be that man. I could go on and tell you how I do not believe in hell. I could tell you how much God loves you. Sorry for rambling. Here's my response: my dear friend, please forgive me for ever condenming you. Forgive me for not loving you enough, for every hurtful word I spoke, for every lie I told, for ever judging you. My heart goes out to you. It goes out to this dear man on the video clip. It goes out to every Christian, especially those that feel they have to defend God, the Bible, Jesus, themselves, their beliefs. May God bless you. I love you all. You are in my heart.

sending love,

That video is five minutes long. I am a Christian and I know that there are people like that out there. I am not going to tell you you are going to burn in hell for not believing (though you will = P )

This guy exudes so much anger and hatred, I couldn't listen to him.

But I'll take it that Christians might have offended him by telling him he'll go to hell, which certainly isn't what we are called to do. What you believe is each person's own choice
