Is it an unfair advantage if a person converted because they were part of a miracle or perhaps witnessed something so deeply moving that they would convert. Do you think it is unfair that when the rapture happens that all of the non believers will be witnessing a prophecy first hand, enough to convert them.
And then everyone that never had that special something move them towards Christianity is doomed to an eternity of Hell. You got to admit, you probably have heard of some fundamental non Christians that converted simply because the witnessed something.. Does God play favorites?

And please don't say, that even if we were to witness a miracle we would ignore it.. That for the most part is a lie.. We do not disbelieve for the sake of disbelieving.

Or rather, most of us do not disbelieve for the sake of disbelieving.

EyeLovesJesus,
Thank you for the answer, I liked it a lot. I probably would not have converted but it would have me thinking quite a bit. Actually, it would likely get me very interested in Christianity. I would be skeptical at first, trying to figure out the chances of it and all.. But if it were so implausible to happen, I would probably have something to go by. I am sorry to hear that your husband passed away :(

Hello.. :)
I would like to aplogize as this is lengthy..
My deceased husband would have disagreed with you..he witnessed many miracles in our home, yet he still would not believe.. :(
An example: His favorite actor, Efrem Zimbelist Jr. who starred in the series the FBI..
I was praying and asking the Lord if I could meet him in person..my husband laughed at me and said God if you hear her prayer, tell him we want to have supper with him (he was mocking me)..
That was on Friday..that Sunday while I was waiting for children to come out to the van (after church) I saw this man walking up to church (for the second service)..I said Gee that looks like Efrem Zimbelist Jr..
Then man who was driving the van said, yes it was..I asked if I could go meet him..he said sure..as I walked up to him, I told him what happened on Friday..I said this was an answer to prayer..
That is when he asked if my husband and myself would like to go out and have dinner, it was his treat..I gave him my phone number.. :)
I could not wait to get home to tell my husband what had happened..but he did not believe me..later that day, he received a phone call..my husband looked at me and said..this guy said he is Efrem Zimbelist Jr..he than went on the tell the man he was not falling for any joke and hung up on him.. :(
I said do you know what you have just done..he just laughed at me.. :(
That following Tuesday I received a bulletin from our church saying that it was nice to have Efrem Zimbelist Jr..at our church as a visitor..
My husbands jaw dropped to the ground when he read the bulletin his self..he said I hung up the phone on my favorite actor, didn't I..I said yes, you did..
There was a time when we had nothing to eat, or presents for the kids at Christmas time..(our church did not know I had not told anyone) the Lord paid our rent and had strangers come to our home with presents, food, a tree, tree stand and ornaments for the tree.. :)
My husband was upset, because there was no Turkey for Christmas, so he kicked a box and low and behold, he broke his big toe..on a frozen turkey..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With ~Love In Christ.. :)
ADDITIONAL: jathgnos.. :)
Thank-you so very much for your kind and gracious words . :)

The answer is in the parable of the prodigal son. The prodigal is welcomed back even after everything he did. You can also find the answer in the parable about the lost sheep and the lost coin. We are all God's favorites. If someone witnesses something miraculous it's probably because for some reason they needed to. There are small miracles around us every day, it's not that we don't want to see them, it's that we are too busy and don't take the time to notice.

It seems that God gives you enough evidence that you CAN believe, but never enough that you MUST believe. Thus freewill is preserved.
There is enough circumstantial evidence to convert anyone who wants to; if you haven found it, it is because you don't want to see it.
------------------------------------
Luke 16: 27-31 (NIV)
"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.' "
----------------------------------------------
...Frank Morrison, a British lawyer of the 1930s, undertook an expedition to collect circumstantial evidence to disprove the resurrection. Such evidence, of course, is admissible in all courts of law in civilised countries to prove or disprove events of which there are no living eyewitnesses. When he analysed the evidence, he reached a stunning conclusion: The resurrection had actually taken place! Morrison presented his case in his book, "Who Moved the Stone?"
Another factor worth considering is the character of the disciples. They were eleven cowardly men who shut themselves in a room after the crucifixion because they were afraid. Yet what galvanized them into action so that within their own lifetime, much of the thenknown world could hear the message of Christ? Some of them paid for this message with their lives. Would they have done so if the resurrection were a hoax?...

Conversion is good no matter what the reason. God's will is that all would come to repentence and that none would perish. Therefore, he will do miracles, signs, wonders for those he is calling, that he might save them.
Yet, he is always there for every person if they would just open up their heart to him and allow his truth to sink into spirits. God bless, keep seeking.

When you see Jesus coming and say now I believe,it will
be to late for them,God said today is the day of Salvation
and at that time there will be no more repenting.
