And once you are convicted, and receive Jesus as your saviour, is it normal for you to get all kinds of blasphemous thoughts about the holy spirit, and anger towards the spirit, and eventually blaspheming it?

And if the person committs this sin, how would they know?

And why is it unforgivable to say the holy spirit is from the devil?

It must be hard, well it is for me, because now that I know theres an unforgivable sin, I get all kinds of blasphemous thoughts towards the lord, and holy spirit, I once had it dwelling, but now my heart feels like its hard and dont really care anymore about salvation... and all I do is mock God now.

I don't know whats going on but the devil has me convinced that he is God, that he owns the holy spirit, etc...

Isnt this similar to the strong delusion at tribulation????????

Paul describes the results of rejecting God: ". . . Since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice.

"They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them" (Romans 1:28-32, NIV).

Jesus said that some would deliberately and knowingly despise the spiritual knowledge that God would open their minds to understand. This calculated blasphemy "against the Holy Spirit," He said, will not be forgiven "either in this age or in the age to come" (Matthew 12:31-32).

Yet we are also told that "all who are in the graves will hear [Christ's] voice and come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation [judgment]" (John 5:29). Even those who have turned down all opportunities to repent and be forgiven must also be resurrected from the dead in the day of judgment.

These people have deliberately rejected God's way of life—even after they have been "once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit" (Hebrews 6:4-6). They were once forgiven and given the Holy Spirit. But afterwards they chose to reject God's rule over him and blaspheme the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, say the Scriptures, because they maliciously "trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace," for them "there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries" (Hebrews 10:26-29).

It is important that we understand the purpose of the lake of fire. God has judged that all the wicked must be burned up. "'For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,' says the LORD of hosts, 'That will leave them neither root nor branch'" (Malachi 4:1).

Therefore it appears that Revelation 20:13-14, of necessity, must include those few among the wicked who have already been condemned to perish in the lake of fire.

The Holy Spirit is the 3rd person of he Trinity, and is therefore also God.
The Bible clearly teaches that the Holy Spirit is God (cf. Acts 5:3–4, 28:25–28; 1 Cor. 2:10–13), and that Jesus is God (cf. John 8:58, 10:38, 14:10; Col. 2:9). Of course, everyone agrees the Father is God. Yet there is only one God (Mark 12:29, 1 Cor. 8:4–6, Jas. 2:19). So, all three are One God

just take it easy bro, one thing at a time.

first, it is never too late to ask for forgiveness, and i assure you God is always there to hear you out and help you.

'sin against the Holy Spirit' is unforgivable because it is referring to ignoring the goading and conviction of the Spirit which therefore keep you from believing and receiving salvation. if we don't heed the Spirit's call, then we sinned against Him and we're damned forevermore.

if you fall, get up. if you sinned, be sorry and reform. there's always a second chance with God.

What you will find is that you may have "received" Jesus, but fell for deception. Jesus said people would come in his name, saying he indeed is the Christ, then deceive many. So just believing in Jesus, but accepting a false gospel, results in receiving a false Christ.

God is not about to give his HS to someone who is going to turn around and commit the unpardonable sin.

You really don't' even know what it is-- you are assuming you do.

There is no salvation in a false gospel.

Satan flees from true Christians. If he is pestering you on this subject, then you should get the idea. Looks like you are getting close to the truth, and satan hates to give up one of his to God.

meow.... possible..... especially since many Christians are taught by their churches that the moment they accept Jesus into their hearts they automatically get the Holy Spirit..... They will be easy to deceive in thinking as you depicted above because they never really had the FULLNESS of the Holy Spirit...quite a difference from what they think having the Holy Spirit means.... and satan knows that very very well....

Unfortunately, many many GOOD people will be fooled....

Jesus DIED for us to receive salvation AND the opportunity to receive the Holy Spirit of God....By accepting Jesus you DON'T "automatically" receive the Holy Spirit which is our teacher of all Truth.... you must accept HIM also and receive the FULL GIFT that God and Jesus offers you!

To not do so is like having the wrapped gift on your shelf, and never unwrapping it to see what you have! You must "unwrap" the gift and USE it in order to have what is meant for you to have! Truth...guidance...tools to fight satan and to discern good and evil in every subtle way as well as the obvious ways....a dirrect link to Jesus and God and to all True Believers within the body of Christ....

To say it in another way....you have been betrothed to Jesus, but,...... you cannot be a "bride" if you refuse to accept His ring and name....

You are still "available" to be seduced by satan because you hadn't committed yourself to God and Jesus AND the Holy Spirit which binds the union.

Peace be with you :)

I agree with most of what Brother Drake said, but I have a different understanding of blasphemy against the holy spirit.

When Jesus was preaching at Capernaum, he came upon a man possessed by unclean spirits, whom he rebuked and commanded to tell Him its name.

"Our name is Legion, for we are many."

Jesus cast the demon(s) out and sent them into a herd of swine, who threw themselves off a cliff.

But the people revolted, saying, "By Baalzeevov does he cast out spirits."

Which ticked Jesus off something fierce, so fierce he issued one of his big mandates: Heaven and earth shall pass away but they that blaspheme the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven.

Eeeyowie. Not a sin you want to commit, eh?

But what is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? I was taught by a Roman Catholic lay brother (and not a predatory pederast) that it is to attribute to the Devil that which is the work of the Holy Spirit.

So, when you say that someone, something, anything is from the Devil, make darned tootin' sure that the Spirit moves you to speak in such a way, lest you end up in the bonfire of eternity.

Remember, too, that the Devil NEVER speaks the truth, except when he knows that you won't believe him.

Now remember, too, that while I despise the Roman Catholic Church, I recognize that they got a lot of things right. One of these is the concept of mortal sin. Mortal sin is not a legalistic vudu dance. It is this: I say that I despise God. I think long and hard about a way to cut myself off from God, permanently, so that even God won't take me back. I figure out what act will get God that pissed off at me: this would be a serious matter, such as killing an innocent child. I think longer and harder about what it will mean for me eternally to be cut off from God. And then, when I have reflected sufficiently, and being under no disease process that makes me think this way and under no duress, I commit the act in order to alienate myself from God.

That's mortal sin. I suppose that if you were to go through this process with a formal attribution of goodness to the devil...were you to insist and believe in your heart that your first born was born of God, but you proclaimed hin to be Satanspawn and made a whole burnt sacrifice of the child, you would have irretrievably have consigned yourself to the fiery Gehenna and the eternal Sanhedrin.

I think you would totally fruitloops insane to do this. But if you could do it and be totally sane, I think it's quite likely that there would be no path back.

By the way, please don't murder anyone. Look, you'll go to an especially nasty hell realm for uncounted aeons. Many uncountable aeons. Not a good outcome by any measure.

I hope your question is open to all forms of religion. In ISLAM, the holy spirit is an angel of Allah. The name is JIBRIL or Gabriel in the bible.

You said "the devil has me convinced that he is God" - you know it's the devil, so he is not God, for sure.
