I want to know whether playstation 3 can play playstation 2 games? i mean duplicate(not ori) PS2 game?

Most PS2 games are compatible with the PS3 but if duplicates work in your PS2 then I guess it should work with the PS3 too.

yes it will work if you can play it on your ps2

You can't 'chip' a PS3 so i doubt it.
