I just broke up with my boyfriend after four years of being together and I wanted some inspiring stories as I put myself back into the dating pool to find my soul mate.
I would like to know how you and your spouse met.
Was it love at first sight?
Were you best friends first?
How long before you knew that they were 'the one'?

: ) Thanks for the stories!!

We met at Mardi Gras, through friends of friends, became friends for a short while. We were together for 4 years and now married for 5.

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you. But I thought I could tell you how my parents and my maternal grandparents met.... (Dad's parents met at uni, studied together, got married kinda boring....)
Mum was 24 and recently divorced when she was sitting in a restaraunt celebrating her bday when this drink guy came up and asked her to dance. She said piss off. He came up again. She told him the same thing. She was in a really shitty mood. After half a dozen more times she decided to dance with the idiot. By the end of the night, they were talking, and she though he was quite an interesting person. That was how my mum and Dad met.
Mum's parents met when her dad was away in the army, and he met his future wife at a dance. They very quickly decided to get married, and came back to my granddad's village *(already wed)where his parents had already prepared a bride for him. There was a big scandal, and basically they had to flee from that place to another city, so great was the scandal. So yeah, thought I'd cheer you up a bit there:)

I met my ex at a rollerskating rink. We were friends, but after about 6 weeks we decided to get married.
My latest love I met on line in Yahoo Personals. Although at our age I don't think we'll marry we will most likely stay together. It has been almost 15 months now.
If you are the one to pick out someone there then your chances are better at finding the right guy, because if a guy winks at you he is most likely to be looking for a physical contact on the first date.
Good luck.

First off let me say I dated SOOO many losers... I wasted so much time on so many dorks looking for MR RIGHT!

Well my story all starts at my job ... So anyways this new guy gets hired and he thinks his is the cats meow!! He was so in your face and arrogant and just NOT MY TYPE as a matter of fact I HATED HIM!!

So anyways he quits ... December rolls around and I get a call from him @ work asking me if I have a date for the work Christmas party ... I didn’t so he asked if I would mind bringing him so he could party with everyone .. I was like yeah sure whatever NO PROBLAM...

So the night of the party our customer service manager WHO just so happens to be one of my best friends is 9 months preggers and ready to pop any min!! So we are at the party and this guy is talking to me and joking with me and well He is not as bad as I thought!!

So the party is over and we are on our way home... When all of a sudden my friends water breaks and well now we are on our way to the hospital!! All that dancing brought on the baby lol!! So now I and this guy are sitting in the waiting room ALLLL night... we are talking, laughing, and having a great time!!

We end up meeting spontaneously and randomly for a few months after all this takes place and each time we meet, we end up having a great time... and I cant wait till the next time I run in to him!

Finally one night we were having a Barrie reunion and we ended up kissing... IT WAS sooooo amazing!! ... The next day we started to see each other EVERY day... I said to my girlfriend about 4 days into it... "Its crazy BUT I think love this guy"

We started dating on August 4th 2003 and on August 4th 2007 we got married!!

We both just new from almost the first date that we were the right one for each other!! He is my best friend!

So I believe love hides in the most unexpected places, and we should not be so quick to judge because that guy that sits on the bus across from you, or that guy that you hate at work, or that guy that smiles at you at the groceries store.. They could be your soul mate... MR RIGHT!! ...

Don’t give up... he is out there right now looking for you too and when you meet him you will know!!

Good Luck

My husband and I have been together since 11th grade. We married four years after we graduated from high school. We are now married 31 years and have two fabulous boys. I've known my husband since 4th grade and we weren't even friends until 11th grade. It wasn't love at first sight. It was an infatuation that turned into love. Love is something you have to work at.

She called me for help in setting up her computer that came in the mail, supposedly set up and ready to go, because I was listed as the contact person for a user group for that brand of computer. I suppose most people here don't even know what a user group was.

i met my girl first i saw her at a book store
we saw eachother and smiled, and i took a second look at her and she was looking back at me,
so the next night i ran into her at a department store and i we both smiled when we saw eachother, so i knew i better say something
so i went up to her and she told me she was hoping i was going to come over to her, and we found out we reall had so much in common and we were both single and the rest is history
now we have been together 10 years and we still love to be with eachother, true love is out there you just have to be willing to try
sometines you find it when you least expect it
