No they do not give the traditional type of bonus that civilians are used to as a Turkey, Ham, extra pay check, etc. The company will usually have a Chirstmas party that is put on by the FRG, or with help from the FRG. There are times also that the Chaplin will identify families that are "in need" and give them at the holiday time, coupons for X amount of $ that is to be used at the commisary. Time off with the family is the biggest bonus that any of us could want

Whatever gave you the idea that the Army would give a Christmas bonus? The $20K sign up bonus goes to those that want the riskiest jobs in the military and when the fire is incoming that seems like not just a lot of money all of a sudden.
It's not a corporation, hon, it's the military and last I checked it was a non-profit operation. Gotta pass this one along to my old retired buds, they'll get a laugh out of it.

My husband has been active duty for 14 years and not once did we ever get a Christmas Bonus, nor a Ham or anything like that.
Depending on when you reenlist and for how long you will receive a annual bonus on that date (so if you reenlist at Christmas time you will get a bonus around Christmas time).
Your company will have a Christmas party and you can usually get a free meal out of that.

No. The pay rate is the same throughout the year. Many years ago there was a possibility of one paying in the maximum social security tax for the year in advance of the year's end. That money would then appear in the last paycheck for that year. That's as close to a Christmas bonus as I ever experienced.

My father was army and he never received a bonus during Christmas. The only real way to receive a bonus is by going to war or promotion.

The answer is NO! There are not bonuses for any holidays.
They receive leave but if overseas even it accumulates until they come home.
My son is an Army Captain & Ranger - he has never received Christmas bonus - check Army website & it will verify it.

The Army & other branches do not give out Christmas bonuses- no check, no frozen turkey, no stocking stuffer.
They do have enlistment and re-enlistment bonuses for specific MOSs, with guidelines according to rank, duty station, etc.
For additional pay, there is flight pay, hazardous duty, TDY, COLA, uniform allowance, moving allowances, BAS, BAH, etc.
There is always the possiblity of cashing in leave for some extra cash, but there are certain guidelines for that.

no they dont.....alot of times the individual units will give out like a turkey or ham....or a comissary gift card to buy dinner.....but christmas is a religious holiday so its not really observed as "christmas" instead the time around the end of dec beginnning of january is "winter holiday" and depending on how your unit does things you may be off for christmas due to that. the military doesnt even recognize most religious holidays so your lucky they get it off at all.
