How do you know there aren't any Muslims in the Royal Australian Air Force? We get all sorts of exotic characters serving as officers in the Army.

The way I see it, there are two things you can work on that would help:

- Leadership and experience - All ADF pilots are commissioned officers. It is difficult to get selected for officer training, and pilot applicants are no exception. If you're not the school captain or whatever, try and get lots of work experience, preferably in a managerial role.

- Academic - Often the deciding factor in the end when all other qualities have been measured up and considered. You want good grades in Maths, English and Science (preferably Physics). B+ is a good grade to aim for, though As would be preferable of course.

The best thing for you to do is to contact a careers advisor at defencejobs.gov.au and ask them to send you out some information in the mail about what you need to do. You will need very high yr 12 marks in maths, science and english and also you need to have already completed a minumum amount of flying hours to be enlist as a pilot so you need to make sure that you have your licence and meet this quota. Check out Http://ADFFamilies.informe.com if you want more info from current serving raafies.

Hey, OMG! Your situation's just like mine!! (Except you're luckier) I'm in yr 10. That was my dream too...WAS! Until my career adviser (that stupid egg head) says to me that's impossible. Why? I don't know, maybe he thinks girls can't handle it?! And hey I'm half muslim too!!! (well my dad is one (because of my grandparents), but mum's not, so I guess that makes me a half, lol).

Anyways, from this out-of-date HSC subject handbook thing I've got, you'll need to take 'Physics' in year11 & 12, and 'Mathematics' (2 unit) but 'Mathematics-General' is NOT accepted, and I think 'English advance' (but I'm not sure about this one). You don't HAVE to choose those subjects to become a fighter pilot, but it'll be an advantage to you (if you don't fail of course). And you gotta apply for the Defence Force Academy (ADFA) as your first uni preference in Yr 12. But the physical requirements for a fighter pilot sounds scary.

But talk to your Career adviser about ur options, coz I'm not 100% sure about my info, lol, don't wanna ruin ur future! But if ur career adv's a nut like mine, talk to a defence recruiter. And BEST OF LUCK matey! My dream's broken but hope urs will come true!!!

SKOOL?

BECOUSE?

WAT??

WEN??

ABOUTT??

First get a good English dictionary, study hard for your University degree, then apply to the R.A.A.F for a place.

Your Religion should not be a factor against you being able to accomplish your dream, however your spelling might.

Good Luck!
